"A large 20-30 years old hotel building. Clean , very large guest room with city view on the high floor. Fast check in and friendly staff. Very good buffet breakfast. Good water pressure at the high floor bathroom. None smoking rooms are available, but sometimesl smell of the smoking still coming from room ventilation. Good room price. Will stay again if I come to Johor Baru."

"I really enjoyed the food, breakfast, sedap and satisfying. Love that there’s a swimming pool and gym to chill and stay active. The room also comes with a bathtub, which makes it even better for relaxing after a long day. Definitely worth it!"

"Mixed Experience – Good Service Recovery but Initial Handling Could Be Better I recently stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre and had a mixed experience. For the first two nights, we suspected the room was not properly cleaned as both my husband and I experienced continuous sneezing throughout the stay. I reported this to the front desk after the first night, but no action was taken or escalated. Unfortunately, we had to endure a second uncomfortable night before I raised the issue again to the duty manager. I must commend the duty manager for her prompt and decisive action — she arranged an immediate room change, which made a significant difference. This level of service recovery was appreciated. However, it is unclear why the initial concern was not escalated earlier by the front desk, which could have prevented unnecessary discomfort. On a positive note, when I fell sick during the stay, the front desk staff were thoughtful enough to send porridge and warm water to my room — a kind gesture that I truly appreciated. The hotel’s location is very convenient, and the breakfast selection varies daily, which is a plus. A special mention to the egg station staff — they were consistently friendly and attentive, handling every request with a smile even during busy periods. Check-out was smooth and efficient. Overall, while there were some lapses in initial handling, the service recovery and certain staff members’ efforts stood out."

"Overall, it was a good and well-equipped place to stay. The amenities were tip-top, with a water dispenser providing free-flow hot and warm water, a big fridge, cooking utensils, cutlery, body wash, shampoo, hairdryer, iron, hanger , hand wash and laundry detergent. The main plus point was the washing machine with dryer function, which was very convenient and the first time I came across this feature in a NestHome unit. The location is good as well. The facilities are on Level 8, and from B2, we could cross the link bridge via Level 8 to RF Mall, which was very convenient. However, the room had a cigarette smell that seemed to come from nowhere. I tried using my own air freshener, but it did not really help. Another issue was the window in the shower area, which could not be closed properly and made me feel a bit insecure when using the bathroom. I have already informed the host about this, and I hope they can look into it and resolve it as soon as possible. Other than these issues, the stay was overall comfortable and the unit was well-equipped."

"Room Condition: The hotel is quite old and a bit rundown, so it’s understandable that the furniture is also aged. The table lamp/study light looked worn out and could use some maintenance. Service: Check-in at the front desk was smooth, but we faced an issue with the TV in our room. We couldn’t watch any channels at all. At first, we thought it might be due to the weather, but the TV in my parents’ room worked fine. We scanned the QR code to request assistance and received only “Noted” as a response. We sent two messages and got the same reply both times. Since there was no follow-up, we went to the front desk to report it in person, but unfortunately, no action was taken until we checked out. That was quite disappointing. Car Park: Try to avoid parking directly under the trees, as there are quite a lot of weaver ants around the area. Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast buffet was okay. The kurma chicken tasted more like ayam ungkep, which was a bit misleading, but I actually loved it since I really like ayam ungkep."
