It was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.

We spent our anniversary with my girlfriend in Kaneyamaen, and our experience was above and beyond. Starting with the shuttle option provided by the hotel from Mishima station, which also took us to Oshino hakkai, what a gorgeous place, before ending up at the hotel. We were really satisfied of our driver who shared facts about Yamanashi prefecture and Fuji. Our check-in process was also a really nice experience. From the moment we arrived we felt the hospitality of the hotel service crew. They escorted us to our room and helped with our luggage. Staying at a Sanri-Comfort Western Room, we had access to 2 lounges, where in one of them we had access to many kind of amazing wine from Yamanashi, among other tasty snacks. We choose our yukata and headed for matcha tasting. This is located in another part of the building which also gives us a peak at the wonderful garden. The matcha and snack we received helped us settle in with the calm garden view. Then came dinner. My god, the dinner was above and beyond. Neither of us had an 8 course dinner before with such a perfect service and absolutely amazing food. Hats of to the restaurant and service crew. Truly impressed. We decided to walk of the calories in the hotels beautiful garden at night. The illumination creates a really romantic experience. After this, we attended the Taiko drum show, which is organized by the hotel crew. First time for me and I can say it definitely made our experience even more special. Fantastic work. Then the star of the show. The open-air bath on the balcony. The sight of Mt. Fuji early morning from the bath, was a magical experience which we'll never forget. The buffet breakfast provides a great selection of food and drinks, rest assured we left very pleased. All in all, this was an extraordinary stay for us. Nothing but max points. Wish we'll have the chance to visit again.

Wonderful place! We were excited with a view of Fujisan, atmosphere of the ryokan, traditional Japanese style dinner, an ofuro in the room. Service was perfect. There’s a lovely garden, beautiful and quiet. Also visited a drum show and it was really cool, highly recommended! And the bingo game was very funny. So it was a really excellent experience. Thank you a lot!

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Mercure Yatsugatake as a family traveling with a baby. The hotel is surrounded by nature, with beautiful views of the mountains, which immediately creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect for families who want to slow down and breathe. The hotel is very family-friendly. Traveling with a baby can be stressful, but the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everyone was kind, patient, and attentive, which really made a difference for us as parents. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with enough space to comfortably stay with a baby. We especially appreciated the peaceful environment at night, which allowed our baby (and us!) to rest well. The facilities were also well suited for families. The common areas are easy to navigate with a stroller, and the overall layout of the hotel feels relaxed and not overwhelming. The natural surroundings add a special charm and make the stay feel refreshing and rejuvenating. Overall, Grand Mercure Yatsugatake is an excellent choice for families with babies who are looking for comfort, tranquility, and good service in a beautiful natural setting. We would definitely consider coming back and recommend it to other families traveling with young children.

For any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints. Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one. It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.

I was incredibly lucky to see Mount Fuji on my first day here, and I woke up at 6 AM the next morning to admire it again. The hotel even has an observation deck on the 6th floor! The location is absolutely fantastic; you get a full view of Mount Fuji right from your window. The staff were polite and patient, and the shuttle service to and from the station was a thoughtful touch. The room was clean and spacious. I highly recommend the mountain-view rooms!

We really enjoyed our stay at Fuji Lake Hotel! I chose this hotel mainly because we were travelling without a car, and honestly, the location was perfect for us. There is a sightseeing bus stop right at the hotel, which made getting around Kawaguchiko so easy. The hotel shuttle was also very useful. The hotel is a little older and more traditional, but everything was clean and comfortable. I actually liked that it had a different feel from the modern hotels we stayed at in Tokyo. The area around the hotel is also peaceful and beautiful, with Lake Kawaguchiko just outside and of course, the amazing Mt Fuji views when the weather cooperates 😂 The staff were lovely and very helpful throughout our stay. We stayed for three nights and I’m glad we did because we could explore the area at a relaxed pace instead of trying to squeeze everything into one day. If you are visiting Kawaguchiko without a car, I definitely recommend Fuji Lake Hotel. The bus stop alone made our lives so much easier! 😂 I would happily stay here again.

It was so comfy and clean, it was my fault that i booked the smoke room i thought there’s no any other room available and im pregnant currently. Just a friendly reminder if somebody’s pregnant or hate the smell of smoke do not book it cus u can smell it inside too. But overall we had a nice stay. My room and my families room are separated they got the twin room but same floor. The view from my room is amazing and stunning! I would love to go back again. The staffs are very nice and approchable as well. And the sauna, i have no words to say but absolutely relaxing, they have a herb sauna, wine sauna, a swimming pool, salt area and outdoor area. I was really stunned and the temperature of heat is perfectly fine for a pregnant i guess cus its not summer yet. But don’t stay for too long i only stayed for 5 minutes each place cus its rly not good to stay for so long if you’re pregnant. I’m btw 28weeks so i think if ure pregnant u can still be at sauna. The place is also closed to all the restaurants and stores really a good location. Very quiet and peaceful place. Thank you so much for letting us stay and will definitely go back!

I absolutely loved the hotel's style. It has a very tranquil and peaceful atmosphere that makes the world feel less chaotic. This time, I stayed in the Butterfly room. From the moment I was picked up at the station by the staff to the check-in introduction, everything about the stay was fantastic 👍🏻. Also, breakfast was personally escorted to the Dining Room by the staff, and I was completely full after the meal 🤣. Oh, by the way, everyone should try the inconspicuous little ramen stand diagonally opposite the hotel at the traffic light 🍜. It was my first time hearing that a street food stall required a reservation, and I waited an hour before finally 'cutting in' to get a spot 😂. It's just less than a minute away, directly opposite the hotel at the traffic light. The taste was really good for that area. Finally, thanks again to the hotel staff for their thoughtful arrangements.

The highlight was soaking in the hot spring while looking out at the mountain — it was incredibly calming and special. The resort itself is small and a bit old, but it has a cozy and tranquil atmosphere that adds to its charm. If you are looking for a place to unwind away from the busy city, this is a great choice. I would especially recommend it for families who want to spend quality time together in a serene environment.
