It took some time to check in and hotel reception (3 person only) considered small for such big hotel. The indoor onsen were crowded for both site (different capacity).
The gym and indoor swimming water were good to use during this period. Drying machine for swim wear was great to use.
Suite was bigger than expected. Enjoyed the stay very much.
Miyazaki is a small city so getting around is not difficult if you stay in this hotel. There is a few local buses to the hotel from the JR Miyazaki station. Within walking distance of 10min you can find almost everything from shopping to izakaya. The best part I like is the sauna and hot spring. It has outdoor and indoor hot spring baths and sauna. Amenities in the public bath is complete with lotion, tonic, hair gel, shaving form and even towel is provided so you don't need to bring your own. Overall, a great hotel.
This is the best decision I’ve made during my trip in Miyazaki. I should have stayed longer here than I did in the previous booking. Almost everything is almost perfect, from the artificial hot spring to the traditional Japanese bedrooms, which are great additions to the Japanese experience. I believe it is one of the most affordable hotels in the area.
The breakfast is a buffet that is included in my stay, and I had to add the Dinner buffet, which is very worth the price since the place doesn't have many restaurants nearby. The hotel is also within a 5-10 minute walk from the JR train station. The staff are also friendly.
I definitely will be back here when I revisit Miyazaki soon. The day I visited was rainy, so I was unable to visit many places.
Stayed one night, location is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants and things to do. Definitely an outdated hotel and could do with a renovation, however the room was definitely very large for Japanese standards so the was a plus!(superior queen). If self driving there is a multistory carpark right behind hotel so that’s also a plus.
Great view for the sea view room. Private onsen not very convenient if us a raining day cause need to walk out if the building. As we came back late a bit late and most local restaurant need to book in advance. The hotel is kind to help us to reserve a table for us. The restaurant actually was full but the room was big enough to share a table with the local.
When I saw where the hotel was located, I immediately knew that I wanted to stay there because I dreamed of seeing Amanoiwato Jinja. I went to the cave twice, in the morning and in the evening, there is a very beautiful road, and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is also easy to get to Takachiho Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes from the hotel.
This was my first experience of staying in a traditional hotel in Japan, and I really liked everything. Delicious dinner and breakfast - I tried a traditional kaiseki dinner, and it was an amazing experience. Attentive, caring hotel staff, perfect cleanliness everywhere, amazing mountain air. Natural wood in the room decoration creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. In the bathroom, you can try Japanese cosmetics. In the evening, you can drink tea, sitting in a comfortable chair with a book. At first, the silence around is unusual, but for us, city dwellers, it is necessary. Since it is dark around, you can see the starry sky - you will not see this in the city. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the traditional Yokagura show in the evening. For someone interested in mythology, this was very interesting.
I did not get the hang of the hot tub right away and I still feel awkward about it, and I forgot to mention that I am allergic to onions, but it is my fault for forgetting to mention it.
I would highly recommend the Ryokan Iwatoya, it was an amazing experience.
Booked tatami style rooms that are comfortably sized. Has an onsen that is not too crowded. The location is very near the gorge. Food wise, will need to drive out but it’s a short drive, as there’s nothing within walking distance
Room size was just enough for 3 adults and 1 baby. It was good idea to book tatami as the baby can walk around in the room. The room was a bit old but it was fine and good to sleep and rest. The breakfast was good too, transitional Japanese style. The public hot spring was not good, quite old but clean notmal water. I would recommend you to buy some hot spring powder to make your own one hot spring bath in the room 😂

ううたろSpeaking of Miyazaki, it's the Miyazaki Kanko Hotel, also known as ”Miyakan”!
The lobby, common areas, rooms, and corridors all had a luxurious feel and a very nice atmosphere.
There was nothing particularly bad about it, and I would definitely like to stay here again.

KKeaidouderenyimenSpent two pleasant and unforgettable nights in your hotel. Saw the beautiful sunset on Qingdao Beach after the heavy rain. Visited the Qingdao Shrine and the mysterious bathing board of the gods. At night, I returned to the hotel and enjoyed the authentic Qingdao hot spring open-air bath in the clean and tidy bathing area. After the hot spring, I had a matcha ice cream. Listened to the sound of rain at night and read comics in the quiet comic bar. It was so comfortable~ I saw the row of original Doraemon, Tsubasa Ozora, Gintama, NANA~ The 80s generation was full of excitement and felt like they were back to their youth! The breakfast environment is beautiful and the food is rich and delicious. In short, I am very satisfied with everything here. I have a very perfect Japanese travel experience. And what I want to say more is: Compared with the beautiful scenery of Miyazaki Aoshima, the lovely Miyazaki people are more worthy of praise. Traveling around Kyushu, the Miyazaki people are the most enthusiastic and hospitable I have seen along the way. I love the scenery and lovely people here~ On the day we first arrived at the hotel, we took the wrong route from the steps and went to the back door. We happened to meet a young lady who had just got off work at the hotel. After she learned that we had taken the wrong route, she immediately led us the way and took my suitcase on her own initiative. There was a section of uphill gravel road, and she even picked up the box very considerately. She carried it all the way to the hotel lobby. As soon as we entered the lobby, she left and there was a thunderstorm outside. The young lady must have been caught in the rain because of helping us. I am really grateful and embarrassed. After that, the staff in every link of the hotel were very warm and kind. The whole experience was super good! We will leave Miyazaki this afternoon and take a cruise to Kobe. We are very happy to choose Miyazaki as the last stop of our Kyushu tour. Thank you for your hotel for giving our Kyushu tour a perfect happy ending.
GGuest UserThis place really surprised me! I initially booked a room for one night through Trip. Since I couldn't book for a single person, I booked for two. Then I decided I wanted to stay two nights instead of one, but Trip wouldn't let me change the reservation because it was a special rate. So I decided to sort it out with the hotel, and even considered booking a second night at a different hotel if this one couldn't accommodate me. When I arrived, they told me I could definitely keep the same room for two nights, but I'd have to pay for the second night the next day. The next day, I went to pay for the second night, and they asked if I wanted to buy breakfast for 1800 yen. I said yes. They charged me the 1800 yen, and when I asked to pay for the room as well, they said I didn't need to, because I had already paid for a two-person stay for the previous night. So, in the end, I got two nights for a pretty reasonable price. On top of that, the service has been exceptionally friendly. The location is right next to Takachiho Gorge. By the way, don't try to go there by bike; it's almost a 100-meter vertical drop behind the hotel!
Someone complained here that the restaurants are too far away and you need a car to get to them. The closest ones are just a few hundred meters away. So, a person of normal fitness can easily walk to eat, unless they've booked dinner at the hotel restaurant. You can also order room service in the evening (picked up from reception). I had curry. The portion was so huge that I couldn't even eat the onigiri I ordered alongside it. The onsen is good, and it has a sauna! In the lobby, there are sake tastings in the afternoon.
The only negative thing is that the onsen is closed during the day. It only opens at 3 PM. So, if you're staying here for two nights, there might not be a ton to do during the day after you've seen the gorge and the shrine. Almost everything in the village is closed during the day, opening in the evening.
WwangshuiyiI was misled by Ctrip's traffic instructions. I took the Nichinan Line to Orisha Station. Although it was close to the hotel, there were no taxis at the exit. I walked for nearly an hour to get to the hotel. When I checked out, the hotel arranged a free car to take me to the station. There were no restaurants or convenience stores around the hotel, which was a bit inconvenient. The facilities and baths were OK, and many locals came to take a hot spring bath.
JJamin_kongThe hotel is showing its age a bit, but it's probably the best you'll find in Miyazaki. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and I barely saw any other foreign tourists. The fireworks show at night was absolutely incredible! The only downside is that there aren't many convenience stores nearby; you have to walk through a forest to find a 7-Eleven. There are also some attractions close by, but I didn't have time to visit them.
みみるくすらいむDepartment house の の Cleanliness は Problem なし
There are many insects in the public bath anyway.
I'm going to go to other hot springs, but there's a lot of them here.
I want you to take the insects floating in the hot water regularly.
The scenery was very good
At night, the light outside is too dazzling and the stars are hard to see, so it's better to be a little weaker.
The lobby, the public bath, the view from the restaurant are superb because it is high
It was hard to get a light car because I was going up the slope.
There are free water bottles for people.
There's a cotton swab, emulsion, water server in the public bath.
Ice machines, sake vending machines were also in the elevator.
Cospa was good
The air conditioner in the room seemed to be in bad condition.
It's a pretty negative that it's 17 degrees, but it's not cold and it's hot all the time.
