I found what looked like an engorged tick or bedbug crawling up my bed. The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la.

No geral, a minha estadia foi boa. No entanto, o dispositivo Xiao Du não funcionou durante a minha visita, o que foi um pouco incómodo. Que surpresa! 1. A localização é excelente, muito perto da montanha Yantai, e a costa fica no andar de baixo. O quarto tem uma vista incomparável para o mar. Você também pode ver o nascer do sol pela manhã. o sol brilha no travesseiro. É tão bom! 2. Há um buffet no segundo andar, e comida chinesa e ocidental no 23º andar. É uma experiência incrível comer comida ocidental enquanto observa a vista para o mar. Embora o bife não tenha sido tão mastigável como esperado, considerando o preço de 198 para duas pessoas e a localização com vista para o mar reservada pelo hotel, a relação preço/desempenho já é muito elevada! Não posso pedir mais! 3. Os serviços de valor acrescentado estão além da imaginação. O chá da tarde é servido à tarde, e os lanches da meia-noite e o leite de boa noite são fornecidos à noite. 4. Dongying Wanda Realm hotel is very comfortable and the best I have stayed in Dongying. Spacious, quality rooms, very clean with excellent facilities, particularly the pool and gym, and with very attentive, pleasant and helpful staff, especially Andrew who has provided excellent assistance over my many stays. Highly recommended for short or long stays as the go-to hotel in Dongying.

1)Location: about 8 minutes walk to Hongmen , a starting point to walk up Taishan Mountains. But there is a shorter way about 5 minutes walk from the hotel that led one up Taishan. Many local shops and eateries around the area. 2) A value for money at this hotel ; spacious room and clean environment and they provide breakfast on request. 3) The service by the owner and parent were excellent. Providing interesting information around the area.

Shoutout to Cici at reception—what a gem! She was not only polite and efficient but went above and beyond to make sure my room preferences were met pronto. Now that’s what I call five-star service! 4. Anna’s Next-Level Attentiveness Big thanks to Anna from housekeeping. She promptly brought up bottled water, and when she realized I needed a disposable tub bag for the bath, she dashed back to fetch one. Now that’s going the extra mile! ⚠️ THE OOPS MOMENT: · Bathroom Blunder Alright, here’s the not-so-great part: the bathtub had a looong strand of hair (clearly from the previous guest). Yeah, not the end of the world, but for a hotel of this caliber? That’s a basic miss. 🎯 FINAL VERDICT: Stunning room, killer views, and staff like Cici and Anna who truly get hospitality right. But Marriott—y’all gotta tighten up the cleaning checks. If you do, this place would be nothing short of perfection. Still, would I recommend it? For that epic ocean view and standout service? Absolutely. Just maybe give the tub a quick rinse first.

One of the beset Shangri-la stays in a long while. The service of the staff was top-notch from the start. They were ethusiastic and welcoming. They would go above and beyond to get things done and were friendlly at all times. The best thing is they would figure things out ahead for you so you don't have to think. Truly impeccable service. The Chinese Restaurant is also superb — one of the best Chinese restaurants we've had, anywhere!

For quite some time, I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the Kempinski in Jinan, and it continues to exceed my expectations.
