Location is great! Less than 5 minutes walk to Matsuyama JR station. There was no staff at the counter in the morning. Although you can contact them with phone call, it's inconvenience for foreigners. I arrived in the morning and needed luggage check-in. Ended up leaving my luggage by myself in the corner of the lobby where several other luggages were left. Good thing there is 24hr video surveillance pointing at the luggage area and one can chain-lock the luggage to the rail shelf. Suggest to bring a chain-lock if you need to leave luggage there. Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. Room is accessed via physical key, not RFID card like commonly seen today in hotels. I booked single room. There is no tea kettle, tea bags, coffee, or drinking water inside the room. All those ammenities are at the lobby. Hot/cold water is only available from a portable water dispenser. I was really surprised that it is not allowed to refill the water with your own bottle (or any resuable bottle). The staff told me it is for hygenie concerns. One can only use the provided tiny paper cup (50~70ml in volume) to get water or make coffee/tea. And it is not allowed to eat/drink in the lobby area. So you have to hold the tiny cup and go back to your room to consume it. Very inconvenient to me. They offer 2 kinds of set menu for breakfast: chicken congee and sea bream rice soup (Tai-chazuke). I had the later and it was delicious. Overall, the stay met my expectations with price I paid except for the inconvenience in getting hot water for making tea or coffee myself. If I ever travel to Matsuyama bymyself again, I'll definitely consider staying in this place again. But I won't recommend it for couple or family stay though.

Good location next to Matsuyama station, easy access to Okaido, big shopping street, and famous Dogo onsen hot springs by tram. 2nf floor is the front desk/lounge for free drinks and soft ice cream/breakfast restaurant. The public bath is on 3rd floor. Room size is the Japanese standard, more storage space under the bed. Breakfast offers various food, many local cuisine and food, and 6 different kinds of local orange juices from Ehime.

Really nice and quiet place. The owner is also a very kind person. Right next to the dogo onsen. The guests are mostly japanese onsen visitors and some buddhist pilgrims so the place is rather quiet in the evenings, good for those who will relax a little.

I booked a two-bed room, which was quite spacious, but it didn't include breakfast and still cost 1418 RMB, even on a weekday. I really felt it was too expensive. Similar rooms at the Crowne Plaza and Daiwa Roynet Hotel nearby were only around 800 RMB and 600 RMB, respectively, for the same day. Aside from the high price, the hotel's hot spring and complimentary udon noodles were indeed excellent. During the hot spring's operating hours, there were free ice cream and Yakult available for self-service. This hotel is located on Ookaido street, a 10-minute walk from Matsuyama Castle, 2 minutes from Mitsukoshi department store, and 3 minutes from the tram station to Matsuyama JR Station. Once you get your bearings, it feels very convenient. I just wish the price wasn't so high; I think maybe I overpaid this time!

We really enjoyed the full Japanese Inn experience at Ebisuya Ryokan. This means you have a private room for sleeping but shared facilities for toilet and bathing. There are also very comfortable, relaxed shared lounge and reading areas. The whole Ryokan was beautifully appointed with traditional Japanese furniture. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and despite our limited Japanese we managed to communicate effectively. The room was large and beautifully appointed. The traditional bedding was laid out for us during dinner, which was served downstairs in the restaurant/dining area. The dinner was filling and delicious with an emphasis on seafood. The onsite onsens were glorious after a day travelling and they are not segregated by sex and can be locked so you can have a private onsen with your partner or family. Breakfast was also sumptuous and very traditional Japanese. If you would like to visit a less travelled part of Japan I would recommend this ryokan. Great access to the beautiful Sadamisaki Peninsula. The local town also has some great cafes!

The room was well-cleaned, the bedding was fresh, and the bathroom materials were easy to maintain, so there were no issues with standing water. 🏙️ **Location** This hotel's location is its biggest selling point – situated on Matsuyama's main shopping street, ”Okaido,” directly opposite the Mitsukoshi Department Store, with various restaurants and shops nearby. Matsuyama Castle is also within walking distance. 💁 **Service** The front desk staff provided good service with a proactive attitude, which is quite rare for hotels in Japan. 🛏️ **Facilities** The facilities are quite comprehensive, typical of a standard business hotel. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the shower space is ample. There's also a coin-operated washing machine, convenient for longer stays. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, with a convenient location, spacious and clean rooms, and excellent service. It's perfect for a short stay in Matsuyama.

Nice Hotel, location is central enough to walk around, train station is in front of the hotel to board for Dogo Onsen. We opt out of housekeeping as we are just staying for 2 nights, the hotel gives us some vouchers to use @Matsuyama Ropeway Shopping District.

The hotel is not close to Dogo Onsen street and you will need to drive or get a taxi if you want to go there. There are no restaurants or shops nearby the hotel. There is a walk nearby the hotel you can take which offers nice scenery in the woods. The hotel looks a bit dated particularly the bedrooms and the corridors. I asked for a quiet room facing the mountain instead of one facing a busy road and had to pay an additional 2200 yen. The hotel has a number of onsens and I like the outdoor ones best. The buffet dinner and breakfast offer good selection and I particularly like the dinner which offered nice teppanyaki beef and sushi. The hotel reception staff spoke very little English and the hotel did not reply to an email I sent them asking for transportation information to get to the hotel. There are buses near the hotel which go to Matsuyama and Imabari but they run infrequently.

The place is clean and tidy, the shared toilet, the shared bathroom, are very clean. Towels and toothbrushes are provided. Free access. Just ordering flat shop offers the wrong gender space When booking, it is female-only, but the space for men is provided. The store owner assists in special arrangements and handles the successful check-in by himself

The JR Clement Inn is next door to the train station which is very nice if you're in town due to the Shimanami Kaido trail. Given the price point of the hotel, it delivers. They offered free drinks in the evening, including sake, and while we did not have their breakfast buffet, it appeared to be very good. Rooms were clean and spacious and location is very tough to beat.
