"This hotel is very clean and all the woman receptionist very polite and helpful. Very happy with the service from them. The 2 man night staff were not helpful. I didn’t understand why I can’t order drink for our room and pay end of the stay. We even received letter in the morning that was outside the room not in envelope which everyone can read I didn’t like at all , reason been dater protection with don’t forget to pay for our order which we did straight away and had my full name on it.We stayed for 3 night so what was such a problem for those 2 night shift man. Otherwise all our stay was perfect. Thank u"

"We stayed for just one night. A much better experience than we had expected, given some of the recent reviews. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was also very clean and had a lovely,spacious walk-in shower. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Our only negative was that the car park was absolutely full when we arrived at 3:30pm … and the staff checking us in couldn’t have cared less!"

"I always try and book a pre Xmas stay somewhere, with my children . I came across Woodford Bridge on a booking site , and it seemed to offer great value for money so I thought why not. There are some positives and negatives which I ll list below. Arrived on a dark and gloomy Tues evening, the roads are not particularly great , potholes galore in the area. In the dark its quite scary roads too, in the middle of nowhere !! Check in was straightforward, nice friendly staff , however I found they have a tendency to talk amongst themselves and leave you waiting for too long before saying ” can I help you ”? Apartment was very clean , modern and warm. Incredibly happy with the size of it. Easy location to the games room for my boys, which they enjoyed very much, the pool table and table tennis. However the lighting is not great around the steps , and also the warning paint on edges of steps have worn off , so I had to be very careful walking back to apt in the dark. Used swimming facilities , nice , clean , quiet . The other facilities looked good . Went to the pub on site one night. Lovely little place , although totally devoid of atmosphere, hopefully better at weekend when live music on. They definitely need something. Prices of wine extortionate 175ml for 7.25 . I had to contact reception as the seal around the oven was coming off, did this in the morning before we went to atlantic village. On our return it was still hanging off, so had to contact reception again. Although I really liked the apt , there are a couple of improvements needed I feel. Firstly I could not find a chopping board or fish slice in the kitchen. As a single female with 2 children I also did nt feel safe as the apts can be accessed by anyone , there needs to be a key card reader on the entrance to the block , not just the apt door. Overall , it was a nice enough stay but I Don t think we d return. Probably much nicer in the Summer , and more going on in the area"

"This is very good for a 3-star hotel at the price charged, and the management has taken steps to rectify some of the problems mentioned in other reviews. My wife and I were in a standard twin room which has been recently refurbished. The room was simple but had new furniture, carpet and bathroom suite and was pleasantly decorated. The mattresses were comfortable. The buffet breakfast offered a good choice, but the sausages could have been of better quality. There was entertainment in the form of different solo vocalists every evening starting at 8.00pm. This was slanted toward an older clientele (centring mainly on coach parties), and many have limited appeal to younger customers. The bar prices were fairly average, with a 2 for 1 offer for the coach parties (not us). The big criticism many reviewers have of hotel internet has been addressed and there was good free internet in our room with a download speed in excess of 20 meg. There is no dedicated car park, but ample unresticted street parking all around the hotel, certainly at this time of the year. There is a rear hotel entrance adjacent to the coach car part that is only about 300 metres from the seas frong. The Babbacombe cliff railway is only a futher 100 metres away. Also close to this rear entrance is a Tesco Express. There are several restaurants and pubs within walking distance, as is Plainmoor, the home of Torquay United. We felt that the downsides were minor but some customers may miss having a room fridge or in room safe, and as mentioned the breakfast could be improved with quality sausages and grilled rather than tinned tomatoes. One oddity in our room was that a mains power outlet next to the tea/coffee tray had had a blanking plate fitted, when a 13 amp socket would have made it possible to use the kettle in that position (looks like a very easy fix if management read this)."

"The hotel was really convenient for the train station being only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. This was great as we had booked a train via Trip at a super price. The hotel is a great base to explore the area including Brixham, Torquay, Teignmouth and Dawlish - using the train was cheap and quick. Now for the hotel - We arrived at around 2pm and the room was ready which was a result. The lift is operated by the room key and is good for security. The room was clean and large with a super king sized bed and a walk in shower with toiletries and hairdryer. There is also an iron and ironing board if needed. The room was very comfortable and extremely quiet and soundproofed. There is air con or heating in the room and the maid visited daily to make up the room and replenish the tea and coffee. We booked a breakfast included room - highly recommended! There is a buffet for hot breakfast plus cereals, fruit, toast, croissants and pastries. Tea, coffee and juices. Everything was replenished as needed - My advice is to book this because it is £18 PP if bought on the day. The staff here were exceptional from the front desk to the maids and the restaurant and bar staff - very nice crew and most helpful and polite. We ate in the hotel on one of our nights and found there to be a decent choice with a vegetarian option or two. There are a few good eating houses nearby - we recommend Henrys Bar and The Local Thai as really good places. Overall this hotel is extremely good and very good value for money - We will stay again if in the area."

"Although the standard twin bed room we occupied is quite small, it is well decorated, has modern furniture and is spotlessly clean. There is a recent shower unit, a TV, a fan, and tea and coffee making facilities. There are twin electrical sockets and 4 USB outlets adjacent to each bed. While the window looks along the coast rather than directly out to sea, the view is very pleasant. The English breakfast was good, and the manager, Adam, very helpful. There is parking on a hard-standing at the side of the hotel. The sea and pier are close by, and the main shopping area is walkable. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot. Two constructive suggestions are (1) a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries which won't stand on top of the curved sink, and (2) provision of a toilet brush."

"Excellent location, staff lovely really friendly and helpful. Next time would try and book one of the cottages. Room we had was at the front of the pub and due to the heat the wi dows had to be open which meant people outside until midnight disturbing when trying to sleep. Food really good and waitresses lovely very helpful. Will definately return and would recommend for a short break."
