In the mountains~ It is more convenient to drive by yourself! There are not many people, very quiet~ It takes about half an hour to drive from Santa Claus Village Drive into the woods of the hotel. There is a kind of lonely beauty!! It is also very mysterious... There are also deer in the hotel! It’s a pity that I didn’t see the northern lights this time

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome, professionalism, and genuine hospitality shown by the entire team. The level of service throughout my stay was exceptional and truly made my experience memorable. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere, elegant surroundings, and a strong attention to detail. Everything was well organized and carefully prepared, which immediately gave me a feeling of comfort and relaxation. The room was excellent, clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the facilities and amenities needed to make the stay enjoyable. The housekeeping team also deserves special appreciation for their excellent work and attention to cleanliness and detail. What truly made my stay special, however, was the outstanding attitude of the staff. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, respectful, professional, and always willing to assist. Their smiles, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile made a significant difference. I genuinely felt welcomed and valued as a guest, rather than simply being another hotel visitor. I would also like to thank the management and the entire hotel team for maintaining such high standards of hospitality. It is clear that the hotel places great importance on guest satisfaction and strives to provide a personalized experience. Every request was handled with care and efficiency, and the staff consistently demonstrated professionalism and genuine concern for my comfort. My stay was not only comfortable but also relaxing and enjoyable. We stayed at Pyhalinna and overall found the apartment itself to be decent. The facilities inside the unit were quite complete and convenient. However, the cleanliness was disappointing — the bed sheets were not clean when we arrived. The funny (and slightly frustrating) part was that after we reported it, someone came to do a light cleaning of the room (even though we were previously told mid-stay cleaning required an extra fee), but the sheets still weren’t changed. The property is ski-in/ski-out and located next to the “family slope,” but there are many areas that really need improvement. First of all, for beginners without a car, it takes around 30 minutes to walk down to the base area to rent equipment(experienced can use the shop on the mountain), and the path is quite unsafe. Honestly, this alone almost made me give a one-star review. Secondly, the so-called family slope wasn’t fully open, and the upper section was surprisingly steep — definitely not what we expected for a family-friendly run. Returning the rental equipment was also inconvenient; you must ski all the way to the bottom because the shop on the mountain doesn’t accept returns. After returning our equipment, we were very lucky that the ski patrol officer Markus kindly offered to take us back up the hotel. We really appreciated his help — without him, it would have been another long and difficult walk. There are simply many practical issues that should be improved. I truly hope the resort can learn from more established ski destinations to create a safer and more beginner-friendly experience. The positive interactions with the staff were the main reason we didn’t give this place a one-star rating — they truly made a difference despite the other issues. Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä is an absolutely beautiful resort with an atmosphere that truly lives up to its name. During our stay, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights every day and almost every night, without needing to go outside for aurora hunting at all. Some nights, the aurora was incredibly strong, with vivid green and even red colors clearly visible. Seeing red aurora was especially rare and felt truly magical. One of the most unforgettable experiences was being able to lie comfortably in bed and watch the Northern Lights through the glass roof, right from the room. It was simply breathtaking and deeply impressive. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, with warm smiles that make guests feel well taken care of. The room is comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with heated floors, which is very nice in extreme winter conditions. On the first night, the room felt quite cold due to a power outage, so we had to sleep wearing warm clothes. On the second night, the temperature was much better and comfortable. Considering that the outside temperature dropped to around -40°C, the room may feel slightly cool at times, but overall it was still comfortable enough to sleep well. Bathroom amenities are mostly complete; however, toothbrushes and razors are not provided, which would be a nice improvement for a resort of this level. Other amenities are well prepared. Overall, Northern Lights Village offers an extraordinary and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Being able to see the Northern Lights so clearly and frequently, right from your bed, makes this place truly special. Highly recommended for anyone who dreams of experiencing the Northern Lights in the most comfortable and unforgettable way.

This hotel was exactly what we were looking for and we had a very comfortable stay. The amenities were great, and perhaps because it was low season, the price was also very reasonable. The person at the check-in counter was incredibly helpful, explaining everything to us in very clear English, which was great since we don't speak Finnish. The private sauna was also a huge plus; being able to use it whenever and for as long as we wanted was fantastic. We would definitely love to stay here again.

Bad management during check in. I book an Apartment for 2 nights for this stay but I got the room for 1 night each. Staff told me I have to change room tomorrow and check out at 12PM. So that mean first night I stay and tomorrow check out 12PM and wait for a new room. Also, the apartment is very far from reception. Luckily, I have a car. Imagine if I don't have a car, I have to carry big luggage from the apartment to reception to check out and wait for new room later and move my luggage to new room again, how was it? Moreover, when I check out at 12PM staff told me the room will ready for check in around 2 hours. Then came back to check in again for second at 3PM another staff told me the room is not ready yet and policy for the Apartment check in time is 6PM. ***!!! I said I need the room now because this is unacceptable. Then staff told me the room is ready and give me the key card. So, for this situation I waste the time for half day to pack my luggage, move a lot of luggage to my car with a lot of snow, check out, go to reception for check out, wait the new room, wait, wait, wait, and come back to check in and got very bad answer that she told the room is not ready, and go to check in again, move my luggage to new apartment with a lot of snow, and take a rest. VERY BAD!!!!!

For the experience of staying in Igloo I would recommend this hotel. I provided a good environments and quiet surrounding. Unfortunately the season is unable for me to view the northern lights and snows. Walking distance to Santa Claus’s Village but I would recommend some street lights so I won’t so scary to walk back at night.

It was an experience out of the world during our stay here. We arrived early wanting to drop our bags but they allowed us to check in early anyway as our room was ready. The cabin itself was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. The bathroom floor was heated which was nice. We got to even see the northern lights from our bed even though it only lasted for less than a minute. One thing to note is cabins are located quite near to one another and with the glass panels, you don't get total privacy. Make sure to request for a cabin off the stretch of main road to have more privacy. We had breakfast and dinner here. Options were quite limited but understandable given the location. All dishes were labelled clearly, and we had no issues as vegetarians. We even saw some neighbourhood squirrels enjoying their breakfast. The place is very modern and managed commercially as a business, with everything extra requiring extra charges (you may even pay for staff to pick up your bags from your cabin to the main reception, which is a 2-5 min walk affair). Despite this, we think it's still worth trying out for a night to have something that's different.

Awesome service, the front counter guy is really nice and patient to help us in any quires. The room is clean with nice sea view. Feeling quite well to see the sky stars when lying down on the bed in the night and the morning sky is super beautiful. Plus, the hotel price includes free tickets for experience 365, we enjoyed a lot there. .

I really enjoyed my stay at this chalet. It’s located at the quieter end of the resort, which I personally loved—it felt peaceful but still close enough to everything. The staff were super friendly and even helped send our luggage over, which made things so much easier. One of my favourite little touches was the complimentary hot chocolate, it just made everything feel extra warm and cozy. The room itself was great too, with charging ports right by the bed and such a nice view that you can enjoy without even leaving the bed. There were just a couple of small downsides, the heater took a bit of time to warm up, and there wasn’t a phone to directly reach the help desk. But honestly, those didn’t take away much from the overall experience. I’d still say it was a really pleasant and comfortable stay. You can also enjoy the usage of free sleighs that you can use to slide down the hill, reindeer feeding, public sauna, ice skating, snowshoe tracking, ice karting and a cozy restaurant Other than the sleighs, ice skating and snowshoe, all other activities require booking.
