A really good old fashion pub, very well located just outside the walls of York. Room was clean, large and well-appointed with a comfortable bed, the breakfast excellent and the service was exemplary. Parking was a little tight, but I managed to get a largish car parked and it stayed put for the next 3 days so not a problem. Lots of eateries within walking distance My only complaint is the noise from the road. We had a front facing room which was directly outside a bus stop and woke to the sound of traffic each day although never had a problem in the evening once the traffic had reduced. Secondary glazing might help in this respect. We asked if would be possible to move rooms but unfortunately, they were fully booked. If you are concerned about noise I would ask if one of the rear facing rooms is available. In conclusion a great stay – would give 5 stars if not for the noise problem.

Delightful stay. The room was bright, airy and clean. Very comfortable bed with excellent bedding. The shower was exceptionally good. Good walking distance from the centre. Easy to locate all tourist attractions. The city wall is very close and you can access this with ease. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice and very well cooked. All staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We’d definitely stay again. Parking on site was a real plus!! Well done Tom and team.

Great place we stayed here last night. Nice room and comfy bed. We wasn't there much because we were exploring York alot. Friendly hosts and a grand breakfast. Would definitely recommend staying here. Only a 10 min walk to the shambles in the town centre.

Wow! What can we say!!! This place is a hidden gem and one we would like to keep quiet but also shout from the rooftops! Still here, for our second night and having an absolutely wonderful time. Room has everything you need - even hairdryer and iron and they have coffee and team and biccies every day in room. Also showering items and a change of towels every day. Bed is comfy and room a good temp. Staff downstairs are brilliant and a 3 stop bus ride into centre of town (I had an accident so couldn’t walk far). The breakfasts are amazing. Using the best products and a lot of choice. Will attach menu. All in all, a big fat YES to coming back her. The price is amazing for what you get. Don’t wait, book it ❤️

This was an absolute steal this hotel. We paid a very fair price for it and I personally think they should be charging more than they are. The owners are lovely. It’s about a ten minute walk to the city centre of York. There is free parking, spaces are tight but the owner was more than happy to help us park. We left our keys with him so if the car needed to be moved we wouldn’t get disturbed. We had a very nice room. It was cosy and clean. There is a pub below and my sister and I stayed in there until they were closing up. There were a few games in the pub that we played and they gave us a pack of cards to use, which was handy. The breakfast was beautiful in the morning. I wish we had stayed longer than the one night! If I ever need somewhere to stay in York I will definitely be staying here.

Lovely comfortable twin room with small but clean and modern en-suite. Very close to York Barbican, about 4 minutes walk. 15 minutes walk to centre of York. Excellent full English breakfast with included making it exceptional value. Would definitely stay again.

All good but a bit noisy because it’s above a pub. However the breakfasts were superb . It has free parking and two bus stops into York Centre are right outside. Its customers are mainly students but no problem to us as they were mostly respectful and friendly. Good fun too, the quiz was a great laugh as us ‘ oldies ‘ were quite useful at times. The staff are great and in all it was a very good stay.

Excellent B&B. Lovely pub with superb selection of beers!. Staff were very welcoming and it’s a lovely, friendly environment. Room was excellent and clean. Perfect breakfast. Loads of choice and more than enough to satisfy anyone. Would highly recommend as a base to visit city ceehichbis only 10 minutes walk

Stayed here for 2 nights from 9th till 11th September,great little pub ,great beer ,great staff ,great breakfast,great beer garden.....JUST GREAT ! Tom the gaffer nice fella ,lovely chilled out place,come back ? Definitely! Soo you soon !
