City Guest House

Very clean and great hosts breakfast good,very close to the city nice walk in about 5/10 min,rang up about parking as the car parks we’re coming out dear ,was accommodating found me a place under his permit saving for two nights about £30,if your thinking about going to York you won’t find a better B/B.Thanks again for a lovely stay❤️

Alan & Julie were wonderful hosts, gave us a very warm welcome & were informative about the area with free map & guides provided. It was a great location, close enough to walk comfortably to the local attractions , but far enough to be peaceful at night. The room was comfortable, and practical, with a hairdryer a fan, a trouser press and a T.V. There was adequate wardrobe space and enough hangers for our clothes. The bathroom was as spotless as the bedroom, could not fault a thing. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of continental & cooked to your liking full English, with a good selection of teas, coffees & juices. Would definitely stay again and recommend it highly. It was well worth the cost and the free breakfast was the cherry on the top !

We have been to York many times and stayed at various Guest houses and Hotels, our favourite being The City Guest house in Monkgate, York. The hosts Julie and Allan are perfect at welcoming you into their home. The rooms provide you with a very comfy bed and all you need for a wonderful stay.

Had a lovely stay at city guest house. Guest house is beautiful and charming has character and is exceptionally clean. We stayed in room 6 beautiful bathroom with bath and light airy room view on to garden and everything in your room you need. Julie and Allan are a lovely couple Julie made us feel so chilled and welcoming nothing to much trouble and breakfast is beautiful. We visited for our 20th wedding anniversary with my husbands parents who had stayed previously. Such a great location for everything we've stayed in York 5 times but this was the best place we've stayed for everything you need and more .

Myself and the wife have just spent 3 nights here, we have been coming for about 4 years, lovely hosts, spotless rooms with added touches and top notch breakfast cooked by Alan. Very near to the town centre and about 20 minutes walk from the station. Highly recommended from Graham and Jackie.

Stopped at the guest house in York for three nights it was brilliant the host's were really nice. the room was spotless and the full English breakfast was perfectly cooked I would recommend it to anyone infected we were so impressed we are going for another stay there in 4 weeks

What a lovely gem of a find. Hosts Allan and Julie was fabulous, parking was made easy by phoning ahead so they could allocate us a free parking space. Location excellent don't need your car can walk everywhere. Rooms cosy, immaculate and homely, everything you need throughout your stay and equally breakfast was just what you needed each morning to start your day, I particularly loved all the fruit bowl varieties and yogurt, and followed by my toast with eggs. Thank you guys

Lovely quaint B&B with fabulous hosts Allan and Julie. Loved the attention to detail and a great location to York city centre. We enjoyed being able to walk everywhere from the accommodation, giving flexibility for all our family to come and go to suit them. We will definitely be back when we next visit York! Our stay with Allan and Julie was wonderful. When booking, Allan and Julie were very accommodating with our late check in and parking options. We stayed at the City Guesthouse for three nights (Thursday night - Sunday morning) in their attic en-suite room during the busy Christmas market period. Our room was lovely, clean and so cosy. The room is stocked up daily with complimentary teas, hot chocolates, water and biscuits. The breakfast was delicious, with many options to choose from, and our stay was made even more pleasant by our kind hosts. Allan and Julie gave us so many suggestions on places to visit in York, and we were so sad to be leaving as we loved chatting to them everyday. The accommodation was also in a perfect location. Within 5/10 minutes walk you have the city centre, and the train station is only a 20 minute walk. The area is very pretty and peaceful. We could not recommend the City Guesthouse enough! It exceeded our expectations and we would love to return in the future. Thank you Allan and Julie for your incredible hospitality.
