Spektr Boutique Hotel Yalikavak

Very nice and helpful reception staff. Room quite spacious and good view (as requested). Windows could be more soundproof (heard a dog barking and hotel guests discussing on their balcony at 3am). The fitness room is quiet small and the way there complicated. As good as the idea of several pools is, I would prefer 1-2 big pool/s. The price is far too high but that is Yalikavak.

We stayed here for 7 nights for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The location is good for proximity to restaurants, bars and nightlife - we would recommend a rental car though if you ever want to get out of Yalikavak or do day trips. The hotel has an amazing view because it’s up a steep hill, so it’s not really walkable. It’s a 5-10 min taxi for about 100TL to get to the seaside/out for the evening. There are lots of shops nearby which are good for stocking up on snacks and drinks for your room. You’ll see these on the way over from the airport. Our sea view room was better than it looks in photos. Amazing view, pool on our doorstep (we mostly had it to ourselves, and you can also use any of the other 3 pools in the hotel. We were in Villa A, where the pool ends up in shade for most of the day. The other 3 pools were warmer so we often used those), massive bed, walk-in wardrobe and lovely toiletries. Bottled water and ice is provided for free, which is a nice touch. The staff are super attentive. Breakfast is served on the terrace. You get a spread of starters, and can choose two mains per person. Eggs, French toast, etc all delicious. Reception staff were also helpful, and offer lifts to places where possible. The restaurant is also good for lunch. The prices are similar to what we’d pay in London, but food is tasty and convenient (pastas, pizzas, salads and good cocktails). Happy hour is 4-6pm, with 50% off cold starters, sides and cocktails. The only downside, which isn’t the hotel’s fault, is the loud music from a nearby club which can be heard in the rooms until 2am. I suspect this starts around June and ends by the end of Sep? Not sure. If you are a very light sleeper (like me), it’s worth bringing some ear plugs. If not, then you’ve got nothing to worry about, as everything else is perfect. Things I wish I knew before I visited Yalikavak (we didn’t do much research before we went): - there are two marinas. The new one, with Zuma, Bagatelle, Nusret etc. this is fun and we visited a couple times. Feels a bit like Dubai, and everything is £££. Then the old marina, which is lovely and feels like ‘proper’ Turkey. We had better (and better value) meals here, staff were friendlier and more genuine, and the shops were authentic. We found it more difficult than we expected to to find a good local meal until we discovered the old marina - paşa döner was a nice quick lunch, and Arka Ristorante a good Italian dinner. - September really is considered the end of the season. We didn’t mind, but if you want a lively holiday in Bodrum where the beach clubs and restaurants are buzzing, go in July or august (probably June too, from what the locals told us). I think everything pretty much shuts down by the end of Sep. Thank you to everyone at the hotel - it was a memorable holiday for us :)

The hotel room was good space for 2 adults and it was super clean. All of the reception members were nice and kind and helpful all of them were kind and lovely they also helped us in some activity ideas and beaches and some placed we told them to call and they kindly did which was very nice of them to do. Definitely going to choose this place near the yalikavak marina like 23 min walking

Excellent hotel with stunning views of the bay. Very friendly staff making you feel relaxed, lovely breakfast. Very spacious rooms with a pool attached too each block ideal for chilling out. Spoke to Haki, and girl on reception lovely people, we would highly recommend this hotel

The service was wonderful and our waiter’s Emrah and Ozcan were so wonderful. They made us feel very special and made us feel like family! Dinner and Breakfast were delicious and the hotel experience was 10/10! Cok guzel!

I and my family absolutely become a fan of this place. Amazing view, beautiful a**osphere, lovely people, the best service ever. Especially Restaurant Manager Mr. Hakki was so helpful, excellent hospitality of him. Mr Hamza at the reception is also so kind. The breakfast was exceptional, literally real Turkish breakfast! Must try! Definitely will come back again. En memnun kaldigim otellerden biri oldu Spektr! Ozellikle son derece kibar ve misafirperver Hakki Bey’e tekrar tesekkurlerimizi ile**ek isterim. Resepsiyonda bize yardimci olan Hamza Bey’e de ayrica ilgilisi icin tesekkurler. Guzel bir mekan, nazik ve guleryuzlu calisanlarla daha kiymetli oluyor, Sagolun!

I stayed 5 nights in this wonderful resort with my niece. We had the most beautiful and conveniently located room (#113), on the ground floor at the right end of the swimming pool, which is shared by a maximum of 6 rooms of the block. We felt like having almost our private pool for most of the time! We took our greatest pleasure to enjoy most of our stay inside the resort, taking advantage of its wonderful setting and facilities. The quality of service is absolutely impeccable: every single member of the team, all young and classy, has a very polite and professional approach and attitude, with a special mention to Ayaz and Sadi. Despite of some difficulties to communicate in English by some of them, their genuine kindness and attention to details overcompensated that lack. Breakfast is served à la carte, with a wide choice of tasty food and with the most complete variety of fresh fruit. As an Italian, I must admit that their Caffé Latte is First Class in terms of taste and texture! We had dinner twice at La Lara Restaurant with a stunning view and excellent food. Room service is available until 2am and one night we even enjoyed a perfect Fettuccine Alfredo at 1am, sitting outside our room by the pool, overlooking the lights and sounds of the Yalikavak marina and the sea. Just fantastic! Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Both the hotel and La Lara Restaurant were amazing. The restaurant has amazing views of Yalikavak Marina and is the perfect rooftop spot. The restaurant manager Hakki and his team gave an amazing service and went out of their way to provide the best experience. Looking forward to returning to this beautiful hotel in the future.
