The Westbourne

Stayed here as couples in a group of 8. Good parking for several vehicles, also overflow carpark further up the hill, a great location to walk easily into the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere. A beautiful old building, the bedrooms are modern & I think have been renovated as nicely decorated & very clean & comfortable. We had the large double room & it was beautiful, huge comfy bed & plenty of wardrobe space & spotlessly clean. The downstairs lounge is a bit dated, but I would not reduce the stars of this review because of this as we had a very good stay, but the lounge could do with a nice welcoming fire lit in winter months & tastefully re-decorating as very dark & doesn’t invite you to sit in there. The staff were very friendly & helpful, the breakfasts good, regular clean towels & the beds made-up every day, tea & coffee making facilities topped up daily & spares at reception. The showers had a tendency to run cold if being used at peak times, def need the water heating sorting as not pleasant. Also the height of the toilet in the large double room is very low, not an issue for us as we are both fit & healthy but could imagine it would be an issue for older/less able-bodied guests, maybe the offer of a raised toilet seat or actually replacing it with a normal height toilet? Overall we had a fantastic weekend & would definitely stay here again. The minor issues raised could be easily sorted to make this an even better experience & get a 5 star review 😊

Excellent place. Added bonus of a car park which meant we could park up and start our short break straight away. Very easy check in even though we were slightly later than their check in time. All the information was waiting for us and clearly explained so we could check ourselves in. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely and all of the staff were pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely book again.

Have been to this place a few times now and the service and hospitality has always been amazing. Located in a quiet part of bowness but within easy reach of the shops,bars and restaurants. The rooms are modern and to a high standard,reasonably priced with the option of a cooked breakfast. Private secure parking is a bonus.would recommend this property to anyone who wishes to visit bowness in Windermere.

Great location, parking a little bit tight , hotel is lovely, owners were very pleasant. Room was nice , very clean , only one thing wrong was the bed , mattress was very hard so two nights was difficult, but would not put me off from returning. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was a good clean hotel that serves up a great breakfast, our room 1 was ok but not very big for 2 people and only 1 bed side table, the room could be easily changed to improve it, the bathroom was very small. If you are off to the lake it’s only a short 15 mins down hill.

Lovely guest house, we stayed in the large double room and couldn't fault it. It was clean, spacious, pleasant decor, lovely comfortable bed and good size en suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer in the room. Breakfast they ask you to order the night before worked well and good choice, we had the full english and again really good, nice food and served piping hot. Location is good, a 10 minute walk down to the lake, lots of lovely shops, cafes and bars on the way. Other nearby towns and villages easily accessible by bus for just £2.00 per journey. The staff were welcoming and friendly and able to help us with planning some lovely trips and walks. Good stay and would reccomend
