We booked a 2-night seaside stay at the Premier Inn Whitstable, Kent. The hotel is strategically located just outside Whitstable town centre, with bus stops directly outside the hotel for travel to/from Whitstable and...Canterbury, Faversham, and Margate. Note: senior ‘Freedom’ passes from London are valid on the buses !! The hotel has a friendly reception and secure entry & exit to the rooms. The rooms are very spacious (with a spare single bed), large TV, tea/coffee making, and good en-suite bathroom (with rain-shower over the bath) AND the ‘famously-advertised’ super-comfortable double bed with ample additional bedding. We had a room on the 1st floor and had no noise interruptions from any of the rooms or corridors. The optional breakfast is in an adjacent dining-room building – via a short 2 minute walk – with buffet (fresh fruit/juice, cereals, toast/croissants/muffins, tea/coffee) and cooked food options. For the latter, we chose the ‘full English’ comprising #2 poached eggs & bacon, black pudding, tomato, mushrooms. sausage and baked beans…..far better prepared than many 5-star hotels we’ve stayed at !! Note: Kids eat free. The only downside [actually more ‘area for improvement’ than downside] was the weak water pressure in the shower…that’s all !! We would highly-recommend the Premier Inn for anyone wanting to explore Whitstable [for scrumptious oysters, crab, fish & meats; boutique shops; boat trips etc.] or Canterbury [Cathedral, Christmas markets, shopping etc.].
