Premier Inn Whitley Bay

Great location. We had a sea view!! Nice touches with sticks of rock for the kids on arrival in the room. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this hotel based on location alone.

Stayed here on Friday evening with my daughter. We live local but we stopped over night to have a couple of days hunting for sea glass. Lovely friendly welcome from the lovely Adele, such a brilliant staff member who made us both feel welcomed. She gave my daughter some sea glass and we will return again and give her some sea glass art my daughter will make for her ❤️ The room was normal premier inn style, everything you need and comfortable. Had an issue with the plug in the sink and bath, the night receptionist came straight round and tried his best to fix it but couldn’t do it, he left me a screwdriver for when I wanted a bath so I could wedge it back out after, slightly weird but I was happy to have a bath and he gave us a free breakfast for the inconvenience which was appreciated. Absolutely fantastic location, right on the pedestrianised promenade at the beach. Kids can play safely outside without worrying about cars. We ate dinner and breakfast in the beefeater and the food and service was also brilliant. Highly recommend this hotel for beach stays, we usually stay at the caravan park at the other end of the coast but we will be returning here definitely! Thank you Adele and the premier inn team

In good location next to beach but a walk into the town. Out room had a lovely bath and the water was nice and hot. Parking isn't easy as the Beefeater next door will use the same one and it isn't very big. We got a parking place okay and paid for all day -£3 and then it is free till 10am. You have to leave by then. Staff were friendly and the room was clean.

Would stay again. It’s in a great location. The rooms are clean and modern with everything you need. Breakfast is good and the bar and restaurant are convenient (book in summer or you might not get a table).

A lovely hotel with the most friendly and helpful of staff. They even had a tub of free buckets and spades for children to take to the beach.

I have stayed at many hotels over the past two years chains and independents, almost all charging more than this Premier Inn. The room here was the best of them all. Large, with two chairs (one dining style and one armchair), a TV with Freeview (almost), a large bed (too hard for me, and a duvet that would defrost a frozen chicken in ten minutes); an en suite bathroom with narrow bath, fixed overhead shower over the bath, basin, and toilet. The shower was pretty feeble, but at least I could work out how to use it. The supplied shampoo/body wash was typically awful. The usual tea and coffee facilities in the room, with unlimited refills available from a table near reception. The staff ranged from well meaning and helpful to brilliant. The middle-aged Scottish lady originally from Edinburgh was very sympathetic to my autism and kept me from the worse depths of depression. The Freeview was variable, with some channels unavailble due to a lack of signal. The "free wifi" is a bad joke. Its not even fast enough to check your emails. There is slow but usable wifi available at £5 for 24 hours (but you're probably better off hot spotting from your phone to laptop). Would I go again? Yes.
