We visited 6 months ago for lunch and were impressed with the food. Today though I’m sorry to say the standards had dropped… by quite a bit. We ordered almost identically to the previous visit, the menu hadn’t changed so we recognised the items. Basically went for Seafood Chowder a sandwich and a soft drink each. The Chowder was unrecognizable from the last time, it was very very creamy, had no chorizo ( the menu states chorizo) and had been thickened up with cornflour and just really wasn’t very good. The sandwiches were very basic and just had cheap ingredients, a few nachos and a couple of leaves in oil on the side. Total cost for this “ fine dining” experience was £44.20. Really bad value. The place was understaffed, after we had finished our meal there was simply no one about to take a coffee order, in fact the table beside us had ordered coffees and ten minutes later hadn’t got them , so they upped and left. I paid our bill, was not asked if everything was satisfactory … so I told the member of staff the food was quite poor and that it had been way better 6 months ago. He could not have cared less, mumbled an apology and avoided eye contact. Not good, not good at all.
