When we booked we knew we were booking a low to middle of the road hotel. Couldn’t ask for a better room with a view. No one at the office when we checked in. Some guy went and found someone for us. Upon check in we had no water because they were soon it. Eventually we did get water. Had to always ask and get clean towels. There was no soap and the shampoo and conditioner containers in the shoes were empty. I inquired about housekeeping services one morning, the only morning someone was at the office, and was told that housekeeping services would be provided that day. Never saw a soul. Left tip money out every day for the maid. About half way in to our stay, we could smell sewer very strongly in the room. We dealt with it. When we got up in the morning the sewer had exploded in the shower and there was no hot water. We really tried to rectify the situation, and we were very aware that we were in a third world country, and things happen. My boyfriend went down to the office three different times that morning, to no avail. There was not any contact numbers at all posted on the door so we were not able to talk yo any one about the issue. We knew from the first few days that we were there that it was a good possibility that we would find no one in the office, just like every day. We felt that we had no choice but to pack up and leave. We were able to get a room in another hotel just up the beach. We booked through Orbitz and were in contact with them through out the day. They were not able to get in touch with anyone at the office either until later that day. This could be a great place. The location on the beach is amazing, and our view couldn’t have been beat.
