Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate

The property all in all was good. Just a few things I feel need attention : The meal (lunch) we had was not the greatest Breakfast was a bit disappointing. There wasn't a wide variety, and I was very surprised there wasn't a selection of pastries—croissants, scones, muffins, etc. After checking in we had to walk through the "kitchen" to get to our rooms. The rooms downstairs (next to the kitchen) was very noisy in the morning. The pathway (past the swimming pool) to get to the rooms at night, was not very well lit and rather dangerous! The rooms would need a revamp - replace the carpets. The roads getting to property should be tarred - a little dangerous travelling at night, especially since they are not well lit

This was a return visit after a long time. There was no longer a SPA on the property, even though the signs still indicated there was. The WiFi wasn’t working and so we had to change rooms and call for things for the new room. You could hear the neighboring room TV very loudly. It was a special price, but still expensive. Good breakfast and nice restaurants on the property.

The property is not on the standard for the price that it is charging. The toilet window was held in place by some toiletpaper stuck into the groove. The restaurant did not have certain items in stock for both Dinnner as well as Breakfast. The manager did come to apologise during Breakfast. A beautiful setting let down by sub standard service and offering.

Service was great. Certainly, improved since our stay in the Couch House in 2022. I guess it really does come down to the staff and management. Perhaps the only request is for some form of room service especially some decent coffee

My family & I enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel & guest farm. The view, the accommodation, food & staff were all fantastic. They went our of their way to meet our every request. Such a gem on the outskirts of Wellington

We stayed there for one night, the view of the valley and venue exceeded our expectation. Would recommend it and suggest a two night stay to allow one to try the grill house as well.

We had a lovely stay. Very friendly staff, beautiful location. Comfortable, big room. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by a wooden fence. Not a major issue, as we spent a lot of time at the Grillroom restaurant and the Pizza place onsite. My only complaints relate to The Grillroom Restaurant. Both nights we were there, certain menu items were unavailable. I can understand that it could be difficult to cater for everything, especially during the week. However, then they should give less options and ensure everything is available. The first morning we arrived for breakfast around 9:15. Even though they said BF would be available till 10, they started clearing the buffet as we walked in. We then ordered from the menu, which was good but the portions were quite small. Especially the health breakfast. The last complaint was the fact that they ran out of red wine. We couldn't do a wine tasting, and couldn't even order red wine with dinner! On a wine farm....?

Stayed in the so-called Presidential suite, but really nothing Presidential about it. Furniture is old and outdated and the facilities very limited. The spa bath was not working and the WiFi non-existent. The suite is in close proximity to the labour houses on the farm and music was playing loud until very late at night. The views from the suite towards the mountain is breathtaking, but overal disappointment, especially considering the price you pay.

We simply loved the place. We enjoyed the Spa treatment and the fine dining at the Grill Room and the delicious pizza's at the pizza vista. We enjoyed the overall experience and have recommended it to our friends and family.
