Van der Valk Hotel Den Haag Wassenaar

If you want a hotel with good breakfast, lunch and dinner here is where you need to be. Rooms are big, spacious and comfortable. Hotel itself looks really nice and elegant, also offers shuttle service to wherever you want to go. Service was really good.

Free parking. A good start. Friendly and efficient reception. The hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment. This was known. Room good although not yet refurbished but we knew this in advance. Good bed , good bathroom. New restaurant "Eiber" not good. Tables between the entrance and open kitchen are a no no. A continuous stream of coming and going diners and waiting staff is passing the tables and this is distracting and chaotic. Food quality mixed. Schnitzel (pork cutlet) and fries fine but vegetables rather tasteless. Stewed pork cheek not good. As if we had the last bit scraped from the barrel. Just some "pulled meat" in a watery "jus". Not very tasty. The so called "potato gratin" was no more than a dollop of mashed potato. We also briefly tried the bar but the music was so loud that we walked in and immediately out again! So all in all: Room fine, restaurant not so!

Excellent and very nieuw. Nicely decorated spaces and room. Parking. 2 min from Bus to The Hague or Leiden Snack corner by the reception also little “bakery “ All staff, as always at van der valk hotels nice, and very helpful Good quality price !

We use Valk hotels whenever in Holland and the standard of the rooms, bathrooms, restaurant, the friendliness of the staff never let us down. Hotel Den Haag did not let us down, we really enjoyed our stay. There is alot of major changes being made to the building but it did not affect our stay. We thought the restaurant was lovely, small compared to some of their hotels but very warm and friendly with excellent food as always. When all the new bedrooms are finished with all the other alterations this hotel will be even better. The hotel is situated in an excellent position for getting around the Hague. Wassenaar is a lovely town to visit, with lots of lovely shops and restaurants. In all we enjoyed every minute of our stay and look forward to coming back when the hotel is finished as there are still lots of places to visit. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

Dear lady/gentleman, With this letter, I would like to complain about the conditions of my reservation. The hotel was under renovation. The fact that renovations are underway does not in itself have to be a problem. But in this case, the entire hotel was renovated. I will point out the inconveniences we experienced here: Our room number 332 was on the 2nd floor and was not accessible by elevator. My 73-year-old girlfriend and I therefore had to walk up 2 floors (32 steps) with our suitcases and luggage and then all the way to the end of all the corridors before we could get to our room. • Our room had a view of the car park at the front. A scaffolding ran right past our window, and we were unpleasantly surprised by passing construction workers who could look into our room. My girlfriend was still getting dressed at the time. The windows were single-glazed. As a result, cold came in and the windows were partially fogged up in the morning. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner was located in a special pavilion that was only accessible via a path of steel road plates and under the scaffolding. Especially after dinner, we had to walk back to the reception through the pouring rain in the dark without much lighting. In the hallway in front of our bedroom, the roof leaked through 3 light points. After some time, 3 buckets were placed for this purpose. I really think that we should receive a big compensation due to the quality of the accommodation offered.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and looks like it will be a super hotel when it’s finished. We were told in advance that there would building work ongoing. Check in took a bit longer than expected but the friendly receptionists advised us they’d only been working there a couple of weeks. We were travelling with friends and we both received a free room upgrade. Our room was fab, clearly one of the newly renovated rooms. Had everything you needed, hairdryer, nice toiletries and a coffee machine with decent coffee. Our friends also had a lovely room but there was a couple of issues with theirs such as a dirty toilet, no shower gel and the shower leaked because the rubber seal/trim hadn’t been fitted to the shower door. It seemed like their room hadn’t been checked before it was passed as suitable for guests. The hotel is about 3.5 miles from the centre of The Hague but we didn’t mind and enjoyed the walk there and back through some very pleasant parkland where the royal palace is situated. Good off street parking at the hotel. Had a nightcap in the pavilion at the back of the hotel, again very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again though not sure we’ll get it for such a good price next time once all the work has been completed!

What you see is what you get. De foto’s bij het kamertype dat je uitkiest is ook exact hoe je kamer eruitziet, dat is fijn! De kamer was erg proper. Het personeel aan het onthaal was erg vriendelijk. Het hotel ligt op een 5km van de kust, het centrum en de Westfield mall. Een goed uitgangspunt dus. Er zijn al een hele tijd werken aan het hotel aan de gang. Dit staat heel duidelijk op hun site. Ze proberen het ongemak te beperken. Het hotel ligt naast een drukkere baan. ‘s Nachts valt het verkeer mee, tegen de ochtend wordt het weer luider. Dit hotel was een fijne ervaring!

We were disappointed that the grounds were Completely unusable and in such a state of disruption. I had intended to stay at your facility in Vorshooten which would have been a better environment. The construction was very noisy first thing in the morning by 7am. We really enjoyed the restaurant facilities and appreciate the birthday wishes for our friend our last evening in the dining room. The front desk staff was very helpful.

The staff were always friendly and helpful and the breakfast was always fantastic! We went in a group of around 40 of us and everyone enjoyed their time over the weekend. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.
