Basic hotel and facilities. Room is large and comfortable. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Off street car parking available. Food wasnt the best seem to speclise in pizzas. When staying in this small town, this hotel a great place to stay. Our room was charming, but large and the hospitality was great. There is an excellent restaurant and bar attached. The food was great. We never bought the breakfast as there is a nice bakery/coffee shop just across the river. Be sure to take the chairlift up for great views (it is an easy walk to get to the base in toen) and then go see the castle (easy walk down a hill to get to the castle from top of chair). Then after seeing the castle it is an easy walk down the hill back into town. You can do it oppositely, but it is more work of course as it will be uphill. One day is plenty to see the town. A small parking lot offers free parking for hotel guests.

hotel is ok but not at all happy with 2 issues. firstly no key available for room safe. also no internet . wasnt told this until after i had paid bill at check in as requested at reception. would not have booked this hotel if no safe or internet offered. will not return.

A good hotel, very welcoming and the person on the desk spoke perfect English and could help us out. Good parking. Great location. We booked breakfast which was ok but not as good as others we've had in Europe (but €13pp was higher than we'd usually have paid). We were advised to book a table at the hotel restaurant as it would get busy so we did, but I think we should have gone elsewhere. The food was good but not great. We had pizzas which were supposedly famous but honestly they were very basic. The service wasn't great either, we waited 45 minutes for our food, no one came to offer more drinks, staff were hard to wave down, when I finally got someone I asked about our food and he disappeared to find out, did not return to update us, and then our food arrived about 10 mins later piping hot, so I suspect we were forgotten and it was rushed through. Nobody came to tell us any more, apologise, offer free drinks etc. The desserts similarly were good but not great. The restaurant also was popular but not rammed full so I suspect they asked us to book so that we would definitely eat there. On the whole would definitely stay at the hotel again, room was very good & a great price and a fan was provided as it was warm, but probably wouldn't do breakfast or dinner here again. I do strongly advise a trip to Vianden, it's a charming little town with a very impressive castle overlooking the valley.

We have stayed here many times before, but covid created an annoying hiatus. So it was nice to be back this year again. I always say that it's easy to look good when everything is going well and that the true test is when there is a problem. This time there was. Our room had a number of issues, none of them major, but collectively it meant it really wasn’t great. The hotel was full, so a room change wasn’t possible that night, but for the second night of our two night stay we were swapped, not just to another room but upgraded to what we reckoned was one of the best in the hotel. They serviced this room very early so we could move and still benefit from the majority of the day and enjoy the village and the hotel's facilities, which are excellent. There is a vast terrace which they use to serve evening meals when the weather is warm enough. It wasn’t on this occasion but we did enjoy a very good flammkuche at lunchtime in the pleasant autumn sunshine. Having had that we decided to go lighter on our evening meal (the first night’s vast portions in mind). But the salade paysanne was also enormous (and delicious). The wine choices are good. We stuck with carafe wine that was very good value. I should also mention that breakfasts here are also very good with a excellent choice of fresh items. So, a problem this time – but we will be back as soon as we can!

Fijn hotel. Midden in centrum van Vianden. Kamer is prima, 3 stoeltjes. Mis wel haakjes, plankjes om kleding op te hangen. Ook op badkamer weinig ruimte voor je spullen. Uitgebreid ontbijt, ruime keuze in brood. En opladen E-auto op parking hotel.
