"Absolutely devastated by my recent experience at a supposed 5-star hotel. After paying a hefty $500 per night, I arrived to find my reservation non-existent. Hours of waiting, uncleaned rooms, and endless frustration later, I'm left questioning the very definition of hospitality. Disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it. #Unacceptable #CustomerServiceFail #5StarHotel?"

Struttura storica della Venezia glam degli anni passati, ora si presenta vintage. Probabilmente per la direzione il costo per le oramai indispensabili ristrutturazioni dell’edificio e delle camere non e’ sostenibile. Piu’ adatta ad un pubblico anziano che a giovani. Lodevole lo sforzo di innovare alcuni spazi (gym, piscina, esterni). Ottimo il personale giovane di ristorante, colazioni, piscina. Non altrettanto la direzione della reception, con anacronistico e risibile fare snob, per nulla professionale.

很中東風格的酒店。新裝修，大概是威尼斯電影節的關係整體價格偏高。到店下午3點多，搞到5點才入住。開始帶我去了一個很小的房間，連通房還有一扇門。無陽台，和攜程提供的酒店圖片完全不同。我特地選了大的房間，結果到店酒店前台説他們不知道我從哪裡訂的，攜程圖片給他們看，她們説這是海景房，價格不一樣。我自己和酒店溝通，酒店協調給我換了房間，態度很傲慢。Lido亞得里亞海的景色不錯，沙灘都是貝殼，沒法下海。就這樣吧，不會再住。攜程的代理誤導性太強，圖片完全不是酒店的實際房型圖片。攜程後續也沒有任何的回覆。一個可樂10歐，特拉米蘇15歐。入住之後可以坐酒店的船免費去聖馬可，20分鐘，但不可以帶行李，帶行李衹能叫出租船100歐。

My 5 year old daughter says she wants to live at Hotel Excelsior forever. I visited with a family of 8, ranging in ages from 5 to 75, during one of the busiest tourist weeks of the year (the Venice Biennale of Art). Every single staff member I encountered was kind, thoughtful, and courteous, and created an incredible week-long experience for my family. The hotel itself is gorgeous; the location is perfect: it's a quicker shuttle ride to San Marco than most places even on that island itself, and Lido is wonderful quiet haven nestled in the bustle of Venice. Best experience I have ever had at a luxury hotel.

So after booking the Excelsior and reading reviews regarding the tired rooms I was a little worried. But I was more than pleasantly surprised. Our rooms were fabulous with views over the famous Venice Lido beach. The air conditioning worked beautifully, the beds were extremely comfortable and was very clean and well presented. Yes there was an old wall hairdryer but a modern one was a available in the drawer. The only down side in the room is there is no iron and we were told that they do not supply them due to health and safety? Which I found very strange. The staff were fantastic going above and beyond. We left my elderly Mum around the pool one day as we went to San Marco for lunch and the lady from the bar looked after her, checking on her and arranging a table for lunch for her, which was great. My only gripe regarding the pool area is that although there are steps into the pool there is no hand rail for elderly or immobile. There are loads of options for dinner and were not disappointed a high end restaurant or a less formal option Blu Bar for snacks. The breakfast was amazing but not worth ordering from the menu as this is an additional charge. The free shuttle to and from San Marco was regular and very handy. We are looking forward to visiting again and exploring the Lido a little more next time as we found out there is definitely more to the lido than just a beach.

My family and I stayed at the Excelsior in June 2023 and found it to be amazing. The quiet more laid back atmosphere of Lido was also a welcome change after a day in busy Venice. The Hotel has a 1920-1950 Hollywood vibe. Elegant and grand. The service was top notch and we never lacked for anything. We also found the water shuttle to Venice to be fantastic and it allowed us to go back and forth easily, making our days very flexible. Do not miss the breakfast buffet. A Cabana on the beach is also something to consider.

Every aspect of this hotel is world class, first class, starting with and most the service. Rooms are spacious and the balcony overlooking the Adriatic was incredible. Pool and pool staff perfect! Gym is excellent! And every half hour a free water taxi takes you to San Marcos Square. Was going to stay 4 days, ended up staying 12. I will be back! William J. Waggoner
