Al Mascaron Ridente

The hotel was clean, room and bathroom were a good size. Fridge, toiletries, wardrobe all in the room. The bed was comfortable and there was minimal outside noise. Breakfast was good - a continental selection with hot food available to order (ham, cheese, pancakes, bacon, toast). Staff were friendly. The hotel is slightly out of the centre, around a 15 minute walk from St Marks square, same for the train/bus station. There are restaurants located very close to the hotel. The main area of Venice begins within a 5 minute walk. Very safe area, no issues walking back at night. Slight problem with the shower not staying hot, but this was fixed after speaking to reception a couple of times. Make sure to make a note of the code for the main door if staying in the other building as reception is not manned 24 hours and we were waiting to collect our bags for a while as we did not know about the code! Overall a good stay that fit in with our budget, as this was cheaper than most other hotels in Venice (which, to be expected, charge very high prices).

We stayed here as a family of 3 for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. It’s a delightful hotel with friendly staff and clean, spacious rooms. We had a family room with the double bed on a mezzanine level and the single bed downstairs which was absolutely perfect. All the staff were friendly and helpful, giving us tips on the city which made our stay outstanding. The hotel is in a great area with so much history and is walkable to everywhere in Venice. Breakfast was lovely and the view onto the canal over coffee was a great way to start the day. The hotel allowed us to leave our cases there on the last day which meant we were able to enjoy more of the day without worrying about what to do with our luggage. I have already recommended this hotel to several friends and would 100% book to stay here again on our next trip to Venice.

This hotel is a beautiful gem in Cannaregio. The hotel is very comfortable and quiet. Amazing beds and a quiet room. The breakfast is delicious. Lots of choice and fresh options available. Great location , 20 mins or so to San Marco Piazza. Many local restaurants and bars on the local canals

It was a pleasant stay, the hotel is located in a calmer area of Venice.

This visit took place in In October 2017, I’ve just found the unfinished review. We were joining a cruise out of Venice on Saturday, Monarch went into administration on the Monday before. Our agent Ahoy Cruises were slow in arranging alternate flights the result being we had to fly to Venice on Thursday morning meeting the cost of the hotel and transfers ourselves. The hotel made up for the dodgy start though. Fabulous location, very comfortable large room. The staff were helpful and pleasant. A perfect start after all,to a wonderful holiday. Looking forward to going back for a longer stay.

Excellent hotel. We had a canal view room which was lovely, and the room was so clean. The hotel is set away from the touristy areas so was very quiet at night. The reception staff were so helpful and gave us recommendations for restaurants nearby as well as how to get tickets for water buses etc - they were also happy for us to leave our luggage on the last day as our flight wasn't until the evening. Just a note that reception is only open 8am - 8pm; they made this very clear when booking and this wasn't an issue for us but worth noting if you think you'll need to check out very early for flights. Breakfast was great and very relaxing - you order a few things to accompany the buffet which had cereal, bread, small pastries and drinks. Overall a really good hotel in Venice where we would definitely stay again!

We stayed here with friends who had been here several time before and we were not disappointed. The room was good, the bed was very comfortable, the Breakfast was spot on and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The hotel is set back from the main thorougfare and is in a very quiet location. We would stay there again at anytime.
