Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo Sul Canal Grande

We had 5 days at this wonderful hotel. The service and the staff at the hotel is very good. They are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a great view to the grand canal. The breakfast is good, and the coffee is great. Also the hotel is within walking distance to sightseeing and vaperatto. We can highly recommend this hotel

My friend and I stayed here for three nights and it was so lovely. Nicolletta and Stephano weren't great hosts. They are so kind, pleasant and helpful. We look forward to returning again some day. Lauria Bell-Hughes

Our stay at the Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo was absolutely wonderful, not only because the property itself is so beautiful and perfectly located, but also due to the incredible kindness and professionalism of Nicoletta and Stefano. We were greeted warmly after the water taxi ride from the airport (HIGHLY recommend!), and given an overview of Venice with a map, which proved to be IMMENSELY helpful later (do not rely on your phones for directions). Then we were showed our beautiful rooms, where they had provided a complimentary bottle of prosecco, and asked when we would like breakfast. Which we had on the terrace every morning, as that space is allocated to reserving the junior suite room 10. We spent every morning on that terrace watching all the activity on the canal (which we could not hear at all at night in our rooms). Nicoletta and Stefano provided excellent suggestions for restaurants, and set us up with a trip to Murano for a glass making tour. They also coordinated our water taxi ride to the train station. Upon being dropped off with what we thought was all our luggage, my mother realized that she left her backpack (with her passport!) in the water taxi, which had just departed. We called the hotel and asked if they could call the service and ask the driver to come back. After what seemed like a year's passing (about 10 minures in reality) the boat driver came back, drove between all the boats zipping in and out, and managed to hand the backpack off to my husband, in time to make our train! Nicolleta went above and beyond to help us avoid distaster! I can't thank her and Stefano enough for the memories they gave us to cherish in Venice. I highly recommend staying at this gorgeous hotel. We are already planning a return trip!

This boutique hotel on the Grand Canal is absolutely lovely! We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. The hospitality was unmatched and the personal attention we received from Nicoletta and Stefano made us feel like we were their very special guests. Breakfast every morning was delicious and beautifully presented. Stefano made the best Select Spritz and explained the differences in the various kinds of spritz served in Venice. The room was elegant and comfortable. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable and so very kind. If you are fortunate enough to visit Venice, this is a lovely place to stay.

Our first trip to Venice and what a nice surprise the Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo was! Owner and manager Nicoletta Cortiana does not miss a trick. The hotel is modern, the our room was beautiful and comfortable and the breakfast amazing. Nicoletta and brother, Stefano were very friendly and helpful. They provided maps and recommendations, made reservations and were always available to answer questions. If you're going to Venice this is a great place to stay!

We had a fantastic 10 year anniversary stay at the hotel. Nicolette was fantastic, giving us plenty of recommendations and tips on where to walk and what to see. Our room was beautiful and had the most amazing view of the Grand Canal. Comfortable, stylish, with a complimentary bottel of Prosecco and local biscuits. Breakfasts were good, with fresh fruit, cheese, meats and bread and really good coffee! Eggs available on order. We took the offer of a free speedboat trip to the glass factory in Murano and really enjoyed it. The salespeople weren’t too pushy but showed us everything and gave us coffee and biscuits, then gave us recommendations to the sights in Murano and advice on how to get to Burano from there. We’re already dreaming of a return trip and would love to stay here again!

My girlfriend and I visited Venice in May, and it was our very first time in Europe together. Venice happened to be the first of four cities we visited in Italy for a 2 week vacation. I must say that out of all the places we traveled to, Venice was probably one of the most memorable, and a big part of that was because of the hotel experience. Before having departed for Europe, I was in contact with the hotel manager, Nicoletta, who is extremely genuine and kind-hearted. She was able to schedule a water taxi (much recommended!) that took us from the airport right to the hotel. We were then greeted by Nicoletta who showed us a map of Venice and all the places she recommended us visiting in such a short amount of time. Our room was on the first floor which overlooked the Grand Canal, and we were blown away by the view. We were also offered breakfast every morning upstairs - and while the food options seemed a little different than what we are accustomed to eating in the U.S. - it was very delicious and it was a great way to start our day. The staff was very kind and welcoming as well. Nicoletta was also able to schedule us with a private water taxi to take us to the Venezia Santa Lucia train station, and she was able to do it the day before we left, even though there was a high demand of taxis during that time due to fashion events going on. Overall, this was truly a breathtaking experience, and I would definitely recommend staying here if you are traveling to Venice.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. What we Loved: 1. The owner is super sweet and very helpful with all our questions 2. The rooms were nice and clean 3. Housekeeping daily 4. A bar upstairs and included breakfast and a terrace with a view of the canal 5. The service was wonderful -- they would always bring a full breakfast spread every morning What we Didn't Love: 1. The hotel is literally located right on the grand canal, so the front door of the hotel is right on the water. Meaning you cannot come in through the front unless you are arriving by a private water taxi. If you take a train or a plane and need to walk to the hotel, the only way to get to this hotel is through this long narrow back alley that smells awful 2. Unfortunately I think our air conditioning wasn't working in our room because we put it at 58 degrees farenheit and it still wasn't even slightly cool. This was difficult after coming home from a long day of tours in the heat, and not having a cool room to back to. Overall we did have a good experience!

Staying At the Palazzo Barbarigo felt more like being home or visiting close friends than being just someone who booked a room for a few nights. The hotel is very well located. It is in a quieter area of the canal yet within a 10-15 min walk from all Venice attractions as well as the bus station. The hotel could be accessed either by water taxi or via land through a very well-lit and camera-monitored back passage. Both Nicolette and Stephan were always ready to assist and recommend places to visit, and always with a nice smile. The hotel is charming, extremely clean, and has a Venetian touch yet with all modern amenities. It is a boutique hotel with just 18 rooms. We stayed in room 18 (The room was big enough and extremely clean) facing the back side and overlooking a very small canal as I prefer to stay away from the main canal to have a good night's rest(It is true the view of the canal is nice but you have to remember it is always busy as it is the highway of Venice with all kinds of small and bigger boats passing all the time). Being a boutique hotel, there is no massive buffet breakfast, instead, breakfast is prepared individually by Rhea (and I love waking up to the smell of freshly baked croissants). Thank you, Nicolette, Stephan, and all your team for making our visit a truly memorable one. We loved every moment. We are definitely coming back to charming Venice and will definitely stay at our new friends at the Plazzo Barbarigo.
