Very good sized room. Very clean room and bathroom. AC worked efficiently, though a bit noisy at times. The hotel was very quiet. Parking underneath (reservation required) is very secure with decent sized spaces. Good WiFi. The room does not have a fridge or a safe. Reception staff are excellent. The metro five minutes walk away takes 20 minutes max to Place Bellcour, a short walk to Vieux Lyon. The area around the hotel is mostly offices and residential. There are very few restaurants. We had good pizza in Fabiola. Nothing to do with the hotel but be very careful on the metro. We made the mistake of getting on a crowded train one late afternoon and a pickpocket stole my wife's purse. Luckily, while our credit card is a joint account (so my card was stopped when we blocked hers) we had set up separate Revolut accounts. First time in 40+ years' travelling we've ever had anything like this happen.

2nd stay in a few months. You should remember to reserve a parking space when booking. Please note, it often happens that the code does not work to exit the car park, so you must call the hotel directly and tell them. The code works for the car park, the elevator which leads to the rooms from the car park and for access to the room, it's very practical! The rooms are quite spacious, well soundproofed, clean. Too bad the window cannot open by tilting and turning :-( The staff is pleasant and smiling. The breakfast is well stocked with even an appreciable savory part which has the merit of being offered (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese and ham). It might be nice to add a toaster ;-) this is the only point I find fault with. Around the hotel, several small shops and food outlets (snack bars and restaurants). Ideally located for access to the Radiant Bellevue room and access by car to Lyon (near Fourvière) only takes a few minutes.

Was a really nice hotel with wonderful staff…. In particular Martin was THE BEST server in all of Europe!!! Rooms are comfortable with an okay bathroom although the shower was a bit awkward. Make sure you have a mango pilada if you visit. Would visit again.

Facilities: The location is right next to the Part Dieu station, but there is construction around it, so you need to take a detour after leaving the station, about a few hundred meters. The facilities are very new, good sound insulation, capsule coffee machine, and the bed is very comfortable. The lobby bar on the first floor is very lively. Environment: Surrounded by shopping malls, shopping is convenient. Also very close to Paul bocuse market. Service: Very warm and thoughtful, prompt greetings. Overall recommended.

This very new building is easy to spot whilst walking (10 minutes) from Bron airport.The foyer and staff are smart, although the electric revolving door is a menace after dark- the curved side panels are invisible . We had a third floor room; although there is only one small lift, inadequate for the size of hotel, the stairs are very easy.There was an excellent view,and no sound from adjacent rooms or outside.Basic comfort was good,with a rather soft bed,but excellent aircon,and a window which both opened fully and had opaque curtains.There was light and space for writing,and a sort of wall mounted seat at which two people could eat on an article like a hospital bed table.The stowage was the usual budget type fixed shelf and coat rail, without a drawer or a safe. Again at budget level ,there was no fridge,but the coffee machine could be used to make tea. The complicated modern bathroom arrangements required three sliding doors,and one hinged, to enclose a space large enough to provide a bath,but instead there was the trendy walk in shower and almost useless shallow basin with no plug.I suppose I should be grateful that the shower did not flood the room. Breakfast was in a rather small room ,with very basic furniture, but as good as the 4 star hotel I am at present occupying in Nice!

My expectations were low and I was still disappointed. We had booked two rooms for a two day stay to attend a concert. The first room was ok, except for the smell of tobacco. It was also missing a plug so the bathtub was useless. The second room was filthy. Plenty of dust and grime on the walls several places, but that I could have accepted had it not been for the floor. The entire room was carpeted and on one side of the bed it was soaking wet. It stayed wet for our stay, even after maintenance checked it out. My husband accidentally stepped in it and his white sock turned brown. They also used some sort of perfume in the rooms and the hallways, which were nauseating. The food was edible. Pretty flavorless and bland. We ordered a charcuterie board and the sliced cheese had dried edges. The bread was also extremely dry, like cut to days ago and left on the counter. Breakfast was ok. Pancakes and eggs were good, but the rest wasn't much to write home about. Overall a very disappointing experience. Except the lobby and the staff. Lobby is gorgeous and the staff was extremely pleasant.

The Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Lyon offers a passable room with special comfort beds that ensure relaxing sleep. The rooms are comfortable furnished and offer everything you need for a pleasant stay. However, the hotel is a little remote, which means that it may not be the best choice for travelers who prefer a central location or want to explore the city walking. Connection to public transport could be improved to facilitate access to the attractions and the city centre. Overall, the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Lyon offers a solid accommodation with first-class beds, but the location could be a restriction for some travellers.

At a guess, we have stayed at this Hotel 8-10 times over the past years. I am sorry to say that after our last experience, we will never stay there again. As a 5 Star Hotel, it was slipshod and dissappointing. On arrival, at 16.45 there was nobody on the Reception Desk, but there was a sign which said ” There is nobody on Reception at present, please take a seat and wait ! There is still construction works going on at the adjacent ****** and there are now only 4 parking spaces for guests. which includes one for disabled and one for electric car charging. The only parking is an unattended open car park some 800 metres from the Hotel and I was not prepared to leave a £200,000 car loaded with luggage, laptops, phones and personal items there. The Receptionist agreed that I could occupy a disabled person's bay on the proviso that he could move it if required. The suite on the mezzanine floor was fine apart from the following;_ - Only 5 TV channels none English. - No Notepad or pen. - No list of Telephone numbers to call reception or room service. - Ony 2 towels for 3 persons, when charged extra for 16 year old granddaughter to stay in the suite. Same for Glasses, cups, Tea bags milk. Just 2 for 3 persons. - The Wifi was awful and kept logging you off. Later found out that you could log in using any old name name and email address you cared to enter ! _ One Loo roll ,part used and no spare. - A Huge Stag Beetle was discovered on the sofa and at that point we had not opened the doors to the balcony. We were aware that the main Restaurant would be closed on the Tuesday that we arrived ,but shortly before we left England I received an email that room service would not be available either but we could have a cold meal in our room.Oh well onwards and upwards ! The cold meal turned out to be a choice between smoked salmon, cheese or cold meats each served with bread and butter. No desserts, not even Ice cream. Anyway, we opted for 2 salmon and 1 cheese. After a long wait, the receptionist knocked on the door with the salmon and cheese and a basket of bread which he had himself prepared and it comprised a single baguette cut up into slices and 3 pats of butter. The salmon was just as if it has come out of a packet and there were 6 miserable slices of 3 different cheeses. The cost for this gastronomic extravaganza was €127.00 which included Room service and a warm bottle of white wine( No Ice bucket either). Total cost for a nights stopover with breakfast with hard sausage and rubber bacon was €603.60. Sorry Pavillon, don't expect to see me again.

We arrived at about 10pm due to problems with the cross channel ferries, but were reassured by the idea that there was 24 hour access to this hotel. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were unable to check in. The machine at the entrance was broken (someone had smashed the screen) and it was so dark that we didn't immediately see a note attached to it which gave a phone number to call instead. We were unable to get into the car park because there were two barriers with pin pads. We managed to get through both eventually when other people arrived. Once we got in, we were stuck since we couldn't leave so we had to wait for other people to come in. There was no response to our pressing the help button on the intercom and the person I spoke to on the phone was completely unhelpful. I understand that I don't speak French very well, but I try and the person speaking to me made no effort to speak more slowly so that I could understand what he was saying. He hung up on my wife. When I got a fluent french speaking friend to call, they didn't answer. Eventually, we followed a french couple into the lobby and they drew our attention to an envelope which was left on the side with the room key in it and the access codes! When we got to the room, it was tidy but stank of smoke. Overall it was extremely stressful and I feel that it should have been made clear what the arrangements were if you check in later in the evening. It would not have been difficult to send an email explaining that if you check in late, an envelope will be left on the side with the key in it etc. We have two young children and nearly continued driving to our destination as we weren't sure we could actually get into the hotel.
