Hôtel Burrhus

We have stayed at Hotel Burrhus regularly in the past years. Fully renovated this year, it maintains its cosy and welcoming atmosphere. We love the central location. The spotless rooms with beautiful original floor tiles are not overloaded and some have a piece of beautiful vintage furniture. The beds are very comfortable. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We can only recommend this hotel. Try to book well in advance, the place is often fully booked, especially during high season.

The positive: - Responsive and very friendly staff, always listening and helpful, they were the best! - Great location in the heart of Vaison-la_Romaine, in walking distance to all sights, shops and restaurants - A nice terrasse where you can eat your own-bought food - Air conditioning in rooms is very welcome when it's hot outside The negative: - The hotel needs overall renovation, starting from loose plugs, to sound isolation (hotel room doors) - The tiles and paint in the rooms are oldfashioned, not to say ugly - The room equipment is more than basic and reminds of a youth hostel. Bathroom: no hair dryer, no shower curtain for the bath tub, no shower head holder. Bedroom: no headboards, very basic chairs and table, only one plug by the nightstand (you need to choose either to charge your phone or use the night table lamp), no mirror, no safe in closet. - The overall decoration in the hotel is artsy, however, it lacks some charm and personality (which could be achieved by placing nicer furniture, area rugs and plants) - Very basic breakfast!

Good room with a sky light. The hotel is located right on the main square and if it's Tuesday, the big market is right there. Roman ruins in a large area within walking distance. Main down side is that there are a lot of steps to get to your room. Also, you have to park a bit of a distance away.
