where to start, when booking into to our room that my cousin kindly booked for a little 'couples escape' for us we had high expectations, but when coming to check in we were met with what i can only describe as a man in his late 60's greeting us with a fairly uncomfortable manner using words such as "darling" with my wife, we expect a somewhat more professional manner from such faces of the business, we were not sure if he was new to the business or if he was unsure of what he was doing when he tried to book us in and he just flung a key at us and that seemed to be the end of the conversation ( we have had friends before us who have said some of the younger staff seem slightly better at this), it did only get worse when we overheard that same man talking about his personal endeavours to another member of staff ( I don’t feel it’s appropriate to publish what he said) but yet again it made us feel uncomfortable, however we would like to note that the bartender we may have heard called john? was brilliant, attentive and professional the exact opposite of the other man. we elected not to dine in the restaurant as we had plans elsewhere but a brief look at the menu showed us why they got their Michelin guide accreditation, it just looked incredible. the only reason we have decided to give this location 3 stars was simply down to the outstanding rooms and their cleanliness, some work has been put into them to keep them up to standard these rooms really made the whole stay better, they can be somewhat pricy but without a doubt the three stars we have given does not do them justice the views at night alone are worth it and I can only apologise for the other staff members that have let them down.
