"We stayed at the Goliath Hotel in Regensburg for two nights this August, and unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations, especially for a hotel that markets itself as five-star. The most noticeable shortcomings were evident at breakfast. Despite calling ahead to request gluten-free bread for my husband, who has an allergy, we were informed on the first morning that they had run out. This was incredibly disappointing and, frankly, a first in our many years of traveling. Additionally, we were never provided with any breakfast menus, which added to the overall sense of disorganization. The hotel’s decor also leaves much to be desired. While not entirely unpleasant, the rooms felt outdated, lacking the modern touch you'd expect from a high-end establishment. The overall ambiance did not match the luxury suggested by the hotel's rating. In retrospect, the price we paid should have been a warning that this is not a true five-star hotel. At best, it aligns more with a three-star experience. If you're looking for genuine luxury in Regensburg, I would recommend exploring other options."

"Another business trip - another hotel ( I think I overused this cliché) ... well I can tell you straight forward is more than just "another hotel". Last December I was on business trip in the city of Amberg so I was in need of accommodation and since this hotel was recommend - from more sources - I've asked my agent to book it. Here are the findings - the hotel is located at the beginning of a pedestrian street , however the guests can park in the hotels parking lot that is only a few steps away from the entrance of the hotel - so it is convenient from this perspective. The historical city center is a few hundred meters from the hotel - and very close there are restaurants, breweries and pubs ... well, there are also churches to be accurate and museums within walking distance. Front desk staff very friendly and professional - fast check in an check-out - everything went smooth from the perspective of interaction. Room - very spacious, one of the biggest rooms I had in the past 2-3 years in any hotel - except Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego - the furniture looked new and the room and bathroom were very clean. You don't have a "typical" bathroom - it is an open space in one of the corners of the room, with a walk-in shower, my favorite kind of shower booth. So from this perspective, jackpot! (to toilet is situated in separated smaller room - a nice thing to have this setup). Breakfast - was served at the last level overlooking the rooftops of the city , and in the evening you can checkout the Walkure Skybar - in the morning they serve breakfast there, in the evening they are mixing cocktails - a nice approach using the same space. Prices - I have to say very decent and with an excellent price to quality ratio. There is no doubt, it is a very good hotel , and should I go back to Amberg I would try to book the same hotel - I recommend you try it when you are in Amberg."

"A very, very nice, family-run wellness hotel in the middle of nowhere, yet quickly and easily accessible via the A6. The rooms are excellent. The spa area could be cleaned and restocked more frequently. But don't get me wrong, everything is clean, just a shade from perfect. I imagine that with the opening of the spa extension in early summer 2025, the whole thing will be even more beautiful. The treatments were good; postponements due to illness are possible, but could be communicated before arrival. The highlight is definitely the Michelin-starred restaurant: Chapeau! Overall, a perfect hideaway for 24 hours or longer."
