We arrived at the Hotel and we were greeted by the Manager Phindile if im not mistaken. I made requests and my booking room type was changed and had to complain when i get to the room. The room allocated was not what i booked. Instead it was a downgrade to the price I paid. The room I booked and paid for was a Superior with sea facing and a couch. I was allocated to the cheapest room which which was a luxury studio room with no couch as my booking indicated that I should have a couch. Only to find a room with a table and 2 chairs, squashed and small room. Got to the room and we were going to a function with my fiaance, the iron was not working, we booked for 2 people and the amenities were not all there, one pair of bathrobe, one pair of towels and we booked for a couple. to make things worse the lights were not working and the we couldnt charge our phones on time because the plugs were not working. Since Im also a hotelier the Housekeeping supervisor is supposed to inspect the room and all these things before you release a room for check in of which here it wasnt the case. After they sent someone to check all these, we were moved to a room 611 which i think, the manager on duty tried to fix us and allocating us to a room with the tinest balcony of them all. The sea view that we asked for wasnt that good of which we had the feeling that we were allocated to this specific room just to fix us because we highlighted these things. I told my partner that we will never booked at The Pearls over these trea**ent. We had an option of other Hotels at Umhlanga and wanted to try The Pearls but we promised ourselves never to return there since we were not valued guests.
