Room facing the river was nice, the sound of the river was soothing, but the toilet could do with a reno n facelift, it floods after shower there was nothing to dry up the floor.

Very nice place to stay. Breakfast was great, within walking distance of the city center, nice walk to a lake with starting point the guesthouse.
Nearby waterfalls are also nice.
There is a gaming room with table football, table tennis and poule table. The kids enjoyed it.

Nice and friendly staff. Very helpful. Pizza can be ordered. Breakfast was nice 😋
Be aware that some rooms have shared bath/toilet. Check when you order.

This guesthouse in the beautiful village of Ulvik is affordable . A small but well-assorted breakfast buffet is included. I recommend bringing earplugs for sleeping in case you've been booked into one of the family rooms located next to the river (it's quite noisy). Good availability of car parking lots. My only complaint for this accommodation is that the mattress was too soft for my preference. Others may find it comfortable. Either way, you'll have a great experience staying here for a night (or two).

We had a wonderful experience at Hardanger Guesthouse. The location is ideal and the views are incredible. The host went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The rooms are comfortable and contain all the necessities. Since we were visiting during the off season, the restaurants in the area all close pretty early. The host kindly made us a late night dinner. The pizza and burgers were surprisingly good! The breakfast also exceeded my expectations. The facilities were nice. The game/TV room was an added bonus. We appreciated the ample seating outside so we could take in every minute of the view. I big thank you to our host who made our trip even more enjoyable and memorable!

This is a pension (bed & breakfast) more than a hotel. It is a relatively old and traditional wooden building. The interior is really outdated and partly run down, but functional and clean. No money is apparently spent on upgrading the interior. Hardly any sound proofing. Good breakfast. The hotel does not have a restaurant but serves cold dishes (tapas) in the evening on request. There is a cafe near the church and a restaurant in the main hotel (Brakanes). Friendly and helpful staff.
