GDZ Gediz is next to the bus station in Gediz, just off the main Izmir to Ankara road. This hotel would make a good journey breaking point. There is free parking adjacent to the hoteI. It is only a 200 meter uphill walk into central Gediz which has a range of simple restaurants. A network of narrow alleyways and roads can make a fun route from hotel to town centre. Reception quality varied between the duty people as did the ability to communicate in English. There was also a problem to communicate in Turkish at one point. My reservation would have been found quicker had the receptionist been keeping up to date on what day it was! The large room had a comfy bed and adequate storage space and towels. All was clean. There was a kettle, tea, coffee and creamer but only a paper cup. Covid rules are over, for now, so please provide a proper cup and glass. Water both at room temperature and in the fridge. Air condoning worked well. No noise from the neighbouring main road and bus park once the window was shut. There is a bug net. Evening meal was not offered. Breakfast of a usual buffet style for Türkiye was adequate and served in the top floor restaurant, which offers inside and outside seating and extensive countryside views. Hammam seems to have closed. Marketed as a business hotel with a business and conference centre, but during my stay there was no WiFi. Reasonable value for a short stay when travelling and fun to be in a small town.
