Way overdue for a refit. Peeling paint, carpets worn out, torn in places with that faint dusty odour that no amount of cleaning can fix. Doubtless housekeeping do their best. Beefeater next door was even more dilapidated.

Nothing to complain about with the hotel, friendly staff, spacious clean room, was up to our needs and expectations, however the continental breakfast that we pre ordered was very disappointing. Over crowded, stressed staff, no space to get your own hot drinks, no orange juice, poor quality food, no trays provided, so a fruit juice and coffee then required you to go back and queue again to try to get your food. This alone caused unnecessary congestion at the counter. I would book to stay again but take my own breakfast next time.

A small hotel OK for a weekend break not far from Heaver castle pub next door OK for food and drink half hour walk to town or ten minutes on bus outside hotel into town.easy to park at hotel.

Easy check in, room was ok and bed comfortable, quiet, the window could be opened which is bonus these days in hotel. Didn’t have breakfast but some of my family did, said was really poor, glad we missed it. The complaints except the hot water wasn’t hot

On arrival, told no chef available for evening meals for both nights of our stay. Too far to walk to nearest pub, they dont do food on Mondays anyway! Car park full of vans, a huge trailer etc. Bathroom fan like an aircraft taking off.

Nice friendly staff, really comfy bed!! Bathroom needed a bit of tlc but was perfectly serviceable. Went to the pub next door for dinner and my meal was fine but others were served cold, service was good and staff there were very friendly and more than apologetic when things went wrong. Seemed like just an off day in the kitchen

When we entered the room it had a very bad smell.mould all over skirting by bathroom. Hall light flickering and standing lamp fault. No heating in room wet room dangerous water fro shower did not drain.marks on wall and carpet. Did not listen to complaint told me to fill in form on website room hindered my breathing had to go to reception in night 4 times as coughing with the mould

Very tired hotel and restaurant attached. Hotel rooms clean, basic and plain. More for sleeping (comfy beds) than relaxing. Staff friendly and helpful. If staying more than one night no room service unless requested. Only 1 bath and hand towel left for 2 people, have to request more. Adjoining restaurant, outside approach tables littered with piles os cigarette buts, broken lights, path littered with garden plant debris making trip hazards. Restaurant food lacking in health choices, too much deep fried. Breakfast reasonable. All food costs extra to room cost.

We recently stayed overnight whilst visiting our son. We only paid £40 for the room, excellent value. The hotel is clean and comfortable, bed very good but we didn’t find the pillows comfortable. The room was standard PI fare but it was an unusually big room for PI making it look a bit sad as not enough furniture in it. Breakfast next door at the Beefeater was fantastic value and surprisingly good albeit simple fare. Would stay again.
