Areela Boutique Hotel

I spent two weeks travelling in Albania and this hotel stands out for the poor experience I had. The reservation was for a king-size bed, which turned out to be a double. I had written ahead of time to find out about transportation from the airport, but never received an answer. The AC unit in my room leaked terribly (in very hot summer weather) and I had to insist three times to get a bucket to contain the water. When the repair man came, he wasn't able to fix it and left the ladder in the middle of room. I later received a call at MIDNIGHT to ask if another repair man could enter the room. When I pointed out the hour, I was made to feel bad and let the man in, who was still unable to fix the unit. My friend who came in on a different flight, was told a driver (arranged by the hotel) would be waiting at the airport, but no driver was sent and the hotel simply said that "this sometimes happens." When I asked for a blanket - I was told that they did not provide additional linens. I was supposed to stay an additional night here at the end of my stay, but my flight was changed to a day earlier. I asked if it would be possible to change my reservation as well - but never received a reply from the manager (who was absent the whole time) and ended up booking at another hotel and losing the money from this reservation. The only good thing about the stay was the breakfast, which was not included and I had to pay additional for.

It didn't start well when I was shown a room much smaller than the one that I had booked. When I complained I was told that I would need to wait for my room to be cleaned. I had booked a city view room but there was no view of the city at all but rather a back street. The stairs to the room from the reception are very steep and no help was offered. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a decent size. Breakfast is very poor with no choice. You get what you're given. The hotel is very well situated and about a 10 minutes walk to SkandSkanderbeg Square. Although the staff are friendly the fact that they had not given me the room I had paid for did leave a bitter taste and had I been staying more than one night I would have complained more.

It was such an amazing journey. All the staff are very kind and polite. Especialy the morning shift reception who also serves our breakfast is very kind, professional , and help us a lot with much information about the city. Keep up the good job. Amazing decoration of hotel , love it ＜3

At first sight it looks nice, but let me tell you something about the room. The room was dirty, first thing i noticed were the used contactlenses still lying there and also the shower was invested with hairs of the previous guests, thewhen you take a shower the water runs out into the room causing the floor crack.. The room is located in a claustrophobic basement with the windows welded shut, and lies beneath a cafe, so you can hear the people above you starting around 6:30 in the morning dragging the chairs around the terrace. Worst experience in a hotel so far. The breakfast and the coffee was nice and the personnel at the frontdesk was very friendly.

Location is good. Only thing we didn’t like is there was a lot of noise at our second day in midnight like someone hitting pipes upstairs or somewhere.

I booked a room with a balcony that I was always use which is in the main building however reception has sent me to some apartment which is not what I wanted. I had no access to Wi-Fi, Didn’t have breakfast and when I asked I was told is closed. When I asked to grab a coffee I was also refused and told that the coffee machine is now off. Been coming at this hotel for way too many times but this time my experience was not great. I am a repeat customer and not a lot of care is given which is a shame. Not sure I want to come back at this please… maybe I will give it one more chance..

Really liked the decor of this boutique hotel. Breakfast included was tasty and the coffee was great. Staff are friendly and helpful and the parking included is secure and convenient. Recommend this hotel for a stay in Tirana.
