Alpine Meadows Resort

To get to this Resort you have to travel a rugged and stoney lane. We did check our sat nav a couple of times to see if we had taken the wrong road, but we hadn't so carried on and eventually arrived at the Resort. (we learnt later by chatting to other travellers that there was another route in, something that we had not been told, so if you are looking to stay here, do your homework!). Once we had checked in, we drove to our lodge, stopping on the main road, as a bear slowly wander across the road. This made our day as we had only seen bears in the distance and this one was right in front of us! It passed and we drove up to our lodge which was attached to another one. This was a perfect place for us to stay a couple of nights. It is a very quiet location. We went to the onsite restaurant for dinner which was very nice and sat around the fire pit watching the hummingbird whilst enjoying the lake and stillness. We loved staying here. After staying in Whistler the night before, this was a very relaxing place to locate to. We were hoping to kayak on the lake the next day but the wind got up and was too strong for us to do. We did wander around the lake and saw the beaver and turtles. That evening we also saw a bear in the woods and a deer strolling past our lodge.

This is a wonderful resort. We visited during off season and were treated to viewing bears, loons, deer, squirrels and ravens and other wildlife. The lake was as clear as glass and wonder for paddle boarding and kayaking. Our hostess, Katie, was the epitome of class, grace and elegance, she made us feel so welcome and cared for. Our cabin was amazing and so peaceful. We even saw "Limpy" the 700 pound resident bear! We were attending the "Dunn Folkin' Around" music festival at Dunn lake and this gorgeous resort was only a few minutes drive from the festival site. I highly recommend this gem of a resort nestled in the hills near Clearwater. AA

What a special place to stay for a couple of days, just what we needed after a busy few days in Vancouver. The road to the resort is a bit hairy and caused our rental car to get a burst tyre! Luckily for us a kind Canadian couple rescued us, when arriving to the resort with the temporary tyre in situ it seemed this is a regular occurrence for visitors, so ensure you have a suitable vehicle to get there (when coming from Kamloops direction). The resort was so quiet which was perfect (the resort just opened in May), it was really idyllic. The staff were so friendly, Sheena and Katie especially!! We were lucky enough to have the lake to ourselves when kayaking which was pretty special. We saw black bears and deer too! The restaurant had great food, with a special mention to the calamari and chicken supreme, both of which are not to be missed! Would recommend getting some essentials in for the lodges e.g milk and alcohol as there is no shop on site and the nearest convenience store is over half an hour away in Clearwater town. Breakfast is complimentary and it was so tasty!! Would definitely spend a few more days here and hope to be back one day in the not too distant future!

A lovely relaxed vibe in this stunning location. This place will not be for everyone due to its remote location and the 23km drive on a predictable dirt track, however it is well worth the effort. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Due to the location it is worth getting all your supplies in Clearwater as there is no store on site.

What a great place to stay, so tranquil ! Loved the lake and being able to use the canoes kayaks etc. A very chilled out place with good accommodation & great views. There’s many walks as well from the site. Only criticism would be around food. Although there is a great restaurant on site, it closes at 9pm and there isn’t anywhere to buy basics on site. The nearest store is 25 mins away and the access isn’t great with a lot of unfinished bumpy roads. A couple of suggestions would be either a small selection of basics that could be purchased on arrival at reception &/or a welcome pack in the lodges - ie bread eggs etc. Other than that it was perfect

I’m not going to lie - the road to get to this is a bit questionable and further out from the main town than I realized. On route I started questioning my decision to book it, but once we arrived I’m so beyond glad I stuck with it. The whole place is incredible! Katie, the owner/manger is amazing - warm, welcoming, friendly, funny! I felt like I’d known her forever! Our dog was even whining for her to come back after spending some time with her, which is pretty rare! Our chalet was wonderful - super spacious, clean and overlooked the lake. The entire property is well maintained, has some walking trails and offers free boat/kayak use for guests. We ate at the onsite restaurant and it was so delicious!! Overall an awesome stay and will for sure go back if we’re in the area.

Very pleasant and efficient check in by Jamie and his team, all very helpful throughout our stay. Would have liked to have been there for more than one night. Fabulous view from our lodge balcony, great steaks for dinner and good breakfast . Clean, quiet and comfortable. Out of the way location but worth the effort and interesting ! drive to it.

One of the best lodgings on our fly drive, You may think you have taken a wrong turn but when you get there you will be happy. Out in the middle of know where so cell not good but wifi is free, boating lake free and views to die for. Staff very helpful and the breakfast is great. Free outside spa and BBQ s. Chalets well equipped and clean with great views.
