Tranquil Wild

2,3 minutes away from Yala block 6, ( Lunugamvehera) . Nice spacious rooms. Very clean which really is a hard find in this area. Friendly staff , good food , great service , nice environment facing a lake. Definitely will recommend. Best option when visiting yala block 6

Wonderful location lakeside Ann and her team took care of us, organised the boat trip, a lovely experience teeming with wildlife, and a great safari. A few days here, is highly recommended to unwind and close to nature. Also perfect location between beaches and Ella. Also great food!

Anne at Tranquil Wild was so welcoming as soon as we stepped foot into her lovely accommodation. We were blown away by the lake straight away which was heaving with water buffalo. They kindly opened the gates to the lake for us so we could walk closer to the animals. Anne was very helpful and friendly throughout our time at Tranquil Wild and the most helpful lady we’ve met so far in Sri Lanka. Her English was amazing and we loved talking to her, especially about how she began Tranquil Wild with her father and family. Her accommodation was beautifully decorated and it is very close to the national park. Thank you Anne, if we return to Sri Lanka we will definitely stay with you!

We recommend Tranquil Wild strongly if you want to unwind and enjoy the beautiful setting of this hotel. The staff is very friendly, the rooms andxswimmingpool are great and the ginormous garden is beautiful. Especially if you like birds there are view better places. The lake in front of the hotel is a bird magnet. We were in the dry period, so we can't imagine how it is in winter, when a lot migrating birds arrive. An unknown and very special part of Yala is a 5 minutes drive from the hotel. We saw a lot of wildlife and only one other jeep on our 4 hour trip with Shehan from Wildtrailssafari. Anne from the hotel can arrange this for you. On top of that we found Thanamalwila and the people there very nice. A bit of the beaten track, but well worth it, at only 25 minutes from Tissa and Kataragama.

We spent 2 nights here for a full day safari to the very nearby Lunugamvehera, which was fantastic and we covered both Yala blocks 5 and 6 in one day. Anne is a gracious and welcoming host. The accommodation is simple and peaceful with lots of bird life around. If you are looking for high end luxury this is not it. But if, like us, you prefer to stay somewhere off the beaten track, with authenticity and a personal touch then we can wholeheartedly recommend Tranquil Wild!

We stayed at Tranquil wild from 25th to 27th of December. As soon as we entered we were taken away by the beautiful environment overlooking the lake. We were warmly greeted by Amal and his team who were very courteous, friendly and always with big smiles throughout our stay. We booked 2 family rooms which were spacious and spotless. The food which was served was simply amazing with mouthwatering flavors. We were lucky to get a very special lunch on Chirstmas day as well. A special thank you goes out to Anne (owner) for personally looking into everything and making our stay a memorable one. This is my one of my ideal place to unwind from the busy hustle of Colombo. Aptly named it is very peaceful and tranquil. The staff are very pleasant, humble with bright smiles. The rooms we stayed in was big and airy, spotless. The bed was just right, Goldilocks style. Being a foreigner I always worry of the spice levels, the host Anne and chef Amal did their utmost best and made everything according to my liking. Locally sourced fresh food, cooked traditional or with a European flair, you will get there. My son and I enjoyed biking around the lake, boat rides, spotting birds and of course the majestic peacocks waking you up in the morning. It feels timeless, and free of stress when I am there with my family and friends. Can't wait for our next trip

January 2022 we went to Sri Lanka, and stayed for one night at Tranquil Wild since we wanted to visit the Udawalawe National Park Safari (with ALOT of elephants!). We would recommend to book the safari in combination with his hotel. The owner of this hotel is the kind and lovely Anne Dirckze (as Dutch tourists, it was fun to find out she had a Dutch ancestor). This is a family business and it shows. It is build with love. Anne made sure everything was well taken care of.  We booked this hotel because we heard that the food was really good. And indeed, dinner was delicious!
