A short trip from Delhi to Dehradun for a Strategising Huddle led to an impromptu drive to and a night at The Goat Village with Childhood Friend and Military Veteran Colonel Asheesh Istwal who with his partners has created a few such "Havens Near Heaven" and extended us an opportunity to experience the Serenity and Beauty of Uttarakhand Drive from Selaqui to BASE CAMP GOAT was winding, smooth and filled with nostalgic talks and jokes as we meandered the Hills and drove into lap of the Himalayas Parking the Thar at a predesignated Rendezvous, we were greeted for a short trek to The Goat Village by a Smiling Team Lucky As we closed after what seemed a breezy short yet sweaty walk; courtesy being out of touch due to Pandemic constraints, one noticed Our National Flag welcoming us to The Goat Village and that seemed to give an Energy Boost as a Veteran Good Thought to have Our Flag Fluttering High Asheesh We were Welcomed by the Manager Bishen and Chef Pawan who brought some Hot Tea with less milk and Pakoras with Bhangjeera Chutney Soon we climbed up another Smooth Contour to be perched upon Campstools, sipping Tea and watching the Sunset amidst some Forestfire Calm and the Winterline was Beautiful Post some cheer and fun atop that saddle, we were at our Hut for a quick freshening up and out for a Campfire with sip of Old Monk (One after maybe 30 years willingly in Company of a Great Friend) with yes, the Pakoras with Bhangjeera and some more Yumlicious Snacks followed by Dinner and Conversations of years gone by Nice Cozy Wooden Hut with Minimalist Nature-Friendly Facilities and yes NO Hot Shower while Team Bishen could surprise you with some Hot Water as a Special Consideration in mornings As one left the curtains open overnight, the pre-Dawn transcended into a Beautiful Dawn and Sunshine What followed was some Inspiring French Press and a Sumptuous Breakfast and simply letting the Time go by with Sun Warming the Earth and light winds bringing back more Memories Off we went strolling down to the Thar and through Mussorie back to Dehradun as this short Sojourn to the Hills laid a foundation for more trips there later Must Visit for Friends, Family, Business Associates on an Offside, College Buddies, Children on School Excursions and Foreigners seeking Quiet, Calm and Sun Atop Mountains Cheers and Good Health and Thank You Team 'The Goat Village'
