InterContinental Hotels Tegucigalpa at Multiplaza Mall

The hotel itself is in a great location, rooms are clean and the best part is the staff. Starting with Luis the manager I talked to all the way to Denis at the lounge. The problem is IHG! The company is not up to par to call itself international and has very little care for its costumers. This is the third time I’ve had problems where they give my room or simply don’t change my reservation even though I call to make such a change and are told it has been made. IHG could care less if you showed up or not and that’s unfair to the actual people working in the hotels who give a lot to make the stay as best as possible. I will not stay at another IHG location because of the company and not the hotel staff. It’s a shame because they are wonderful here.

Excellent service! Denis at the top floor is very customer oriented and professional. You can have breakfast every day from 6am to 10am, also happy hours from 5pm to 7pm. You are allowed to bring a guest for free at no charge.

Check your bill carefully, I stayed at this hotel in November of 2023. I checked out and I did not receive a receipt. I have incorrect charges on my credit card and I called the hotel, they told me to contact them via Whatsapp. I contacted via Whatsapp and they told me they would look into it months later I still have not received a resolution and they over charged my credit card by hundreds of dollars.

Stayed at this hotel for a week on business travel. It met all my expectations and then some more. The reception staff was friendly and useful! Security was great and very heplful! Services were outstanding and food awesome. The bar at the pool was great with drinks! Wished they had a little more selection on Rums like Capt. Morgan… DJ at pool side had good music and the atmosphere was just right to relax and enjoy the evening. Being across the Multiplaza mall is a great plus. Nice restaurants at hotel and at mall….Traffic around the area was not too bad compared to the test of city! Recommended!!

I’ve been a regular at the Intercon Tegucigalpa for six months. It’s known as the nicest hotel in the city and has an excellent location. The restaurants are top notch with a wide variety of options. I have not ordered anything that I didn’t like. The club lounge is always a wonderful oasis — Denis is so friendly and accommodating. Another staff member, Daniel, is likewise friendly and super service oriented. Be sure to request a higher floor because the hotel is the go-to place for events, and these will include loud bands into the wee hours.

We were privy to the intercontinental club with Daniel as our server. He was a phenomenal attendant and very on top of the drink service. Our table was cleared of empty bottles and plates before we knew it. Will for sure come back. Thanks, Daniel!

My friend and I spent the night here and it was amazing. The night scene at the Hotel was good and security was visible. We felt extremely safe and we party all night. The rooms are exactly what you expect for staying at a US chain, and the breakfast was well worth it.

I don't know that I'd rate this hotel a 5-star hotel by US standards, but it's definitely an elegant and comfortable 4-star hotel. I stayed here after New Year's to unwind and it was wonderful. Modern, beautiful , and well-appointed rooms. The lobby is gorgeous with high vaulted ceilings, marble tile floor and columns, and elegant decor. The room was spacious with a chaise lounge sofa and king bed. The bed was soft and the pillows varied in size and fill. The thermostat and Wi-Fi worked well. (Have the desk receptionist connect your phone to the main wifi, not the guest room wifi). The bathroom was a decent size and the tub deep enough to actually soak in. The towels were large, but a bit rough as fabric softener is not commonly used in Central America. I liked the toiletries. A large window overlooked the street below, the entrance to the upscale Multiplaza Mall, and the city and hills in the background. There are 2 sets of pull curtains - sheer, and heavy drapes that sufficiently darken the room. The flat screen TV had some channels in English and HBO. The carpeting in the hall and room (which could use a shampoo) kept the hotel pretty quiet. I could hear a TV sometimes, but that's about it. The maids chatted and called to each other quite a bit in the mornings. I did not eat at the restaurant or market café, but I did order room service a few times. While the menu was limited, the service was prompt, the food was good, and the bill was quite reasonable. I had drinks at the pool bar and enjoyed the upbeat music and ambience. All staff members were extremely polite and helpful. The room had a coffee station and a mini- fridge, though the fridge was not very cold and could not be adjusted. It would have been nice to have had a microwave. Be sure to use the DO NOT DISTURB sign if you intend to sleep in. Otherwise, the diligent maids will enter your room a few times in the morning. My keys kept getting demagnetized, but that's not a big deal with a 24hr desk. Just a minor annoyance. I thought it was a tad pricey. I'm sure it was more expensive because it was right after New Year's and last-minute, but breakfast was not included, which is odd because I usually have that perk as a frequent traveler. When I extended my stay an extra day, they quoted me almost $300 for a Monday night, and I could hear the record scratch. Say what?? Then she quickly backtracked and asked, "Is it only one person?" And then quoted me $150 with breakfast included. Hmm. But everything was on the up and up, including the room bill and room service bill. The hotel taxi to the airport 20 min away (without traffic) is $15, but I paid it because there weren't any Ubers available at 5am and the hotel taxi was on site. (An Uber would've cost about $8). Despite the mall across the street, this area was quiet and safe. However, it's not located near any tourist sites. The museums, churches, and historic sites are downtown,

The Intercon is a great place to stay. Centrally located, next one of the best malls. Customer Service is excellent, breakfast is everything one could hope for, and the evening lounge is probably the best part of the Intercon experience! Denis Ramirez takes great care of all his guests! Extremely satisfied!
