I really need to start this review with the Lotte Hotel breakfast! It’s in their fancy Italian restaurant and the interior is very elegant. But the star of the show is the exceptional variety of food available – noodles, porridge, bacon, sausage, any type of egg custom-cooked, salmon, tuna salad, Caesar salad, so many types of veggies, cheeses, cold meat cuts, fruits, etc. If we could find fault, it was that they seemed to be slow in replenishing the glasses and coffee cups. To be fair, they did have several guests, and for obvious reasons, many of them were Korean – after all, Lotte is a Korean chain! To get to the restaurant, you walked a long corridor and just before you got there, the décor suddenly changes to an elegant all-white interior. The hotel occupies a large lot right at the corner of the biggest square in the city. So from the hotel, you could walk to the main park or several other parks – Independence Square, Memory Square, Temur Square, Theatre Square – all within walking distance, so the location couldn’t be beat. The hotel has two large courtyards, nice places to rest or stroll or take pictures. It’s a narrow but longish lobby, with scenic lifts. The carpeting in the corridors is quite plush. They upgraded us to a junior suite so I’m not sure how the regular rooms looked, but the junior suite was certainly impressive. The T&B is quite large, with enough sink top space to put a lot of our cosmetic items. We did think it was quite funny that one of toilet lights filtered through to the bedroom – a design flaw. All the furniture are made of expensive looking wood. There are enough power plugs which accommodate all plug types – nice. Two large TVs, decent sofas and couches, nice carpeting. The plus with the upgraded room was the two balconies for each room – the living area and the bedroom. Temperature was very easy to control.
