Residence Inn by Marriott Tampa at USF/Medical Center

We will be checking out this morning from a one week stay at the Residence Inn in North Tampa. Our son required surgery at Moffitt Cancer Center and our primary needs for a hotel were location, quiet and comfort. The Residence Inn absolutely exceeded our expectations. We had requested a quiet room and when we arrived in our King Studio Suite, we were happy to see that it was down the hall and had everything we needed. The room was immaculate with cleaning protocols going on constantly throughout the hotel. Because of the proximity to Moffitt (3.5 miles) there are obviously patients receiving treatments staying here as well as families of patients. I believe the hotel caters to that clientele intentionally. The Inn has a small, but adequate swimming pool as well as state of the art exercise equipment. Their normal buffet breakfast has been replaced by a grab and go service area (due to Covid) but the front desk personnel who man it couldn’t be nicer. They actually gave us a couple of muffins when we had missed the actual breakfast window and they were super nice and helpful when it came to directions, etc. The room itself was perfect: full size fridge, and coffee maker (which I could set up the night before), a desk area for my husband to work remotely and a shower with absolutely terrific water pressure. There’s also a microwave to reheat leftovers and enough dishes/utensils to eat comfortably. We weren’t here for a vacation so the fact that we were about 5 miles from Busch Gardens was immaterial, but that might be a consideration for some. Like I said, it was quiet and comfortable and although we hope to not have to return to Moffitt, if we do, this will certainly be our first choice.
