We have stayed at this Doubletree many times and have always had an enjoyable experience. This time was different. We picked our room on the app and arrived at a little after 840PM. Our room was not ready. Really? Not ready at 840PM? That should have been my first warning sign they were understaffed. We switched rooms to queen beds instead of the king we wanted. I also learned while checking in that there is now a $25.00 per night parking fee. The people checking in next to me were told they do not have to pay the parking fee because it was included. I guess you have to be careful while booking. We were assigned room 234, with a balcony overlooking the beautiful pool area. The bathtub/shower was rusty, the tiles were scummy and the hook on the back of the bathroom door is missing. Bathroom is very small and the missing hook left no place to hand a toiletries bag, bathroom or wet towel. There are holes in the bedroom curtains and they also were filthy. There is no daily housekeeping, so the halls are lined with trash and dirty towels, leftover food, etc. Not a pleasant site, snd sometimes, an unpleasant odor. We had a snack on arrival in the restaurant. Food was good, servers were pleasant and efficient, even though they were understaffed. On day 3 we requested housekeeping, and were told it would be taken care if. We needed tissues, toilet paper, trash emptied, etc. they never came. The front desk never answers the phone. So any requests or questions require a trip to the front desk and a wait in line. The lobby is welcoming and offers a variety of seats to talk or eat take out. The restaurant used for breakfast was closed, with a sign saying it was a private party. The hallway leading to the restaurant was dark, leading us to believe there was no private party. We never saw anyone in there. It was just closed with management thinking they needed to offer an excuse. Just a warning to those with food allergies—-my favorite about Doubletree is the warm chocolate chip cookies. I have eaten many over the years and never had a problem. This time however, after nibbling slowly in half a cookie, I felt a tickle in my throat, which I thought meant I needed water. Then my nose became stuffy and my throat started to swell and my asthma kicked in. It was not as scary as it reads, because I knew what to do. I took my rescue inhaler and allergy medication. Everything settled down and I was fine. I read the ingredients on the package and they use barley flour, which I am allergic to. I don’t know if it is a new ingredient, or I have grown more sensitive to it. Just be careful. My bad. The staff is friendly and the things I mentioned are beyond there control. This property does not come close to what us expected from a Hilton brand. If you are staying overnight for a cruise, you may like this. Or if you are with a group that wants to meet in the lobby for chats. There is also a $15.00 dining credit, which we were not made aware of at check in. The pro
