WB Villa

NOT luxury but still a good standard. Room nice. Vihan the manager is incredibly helpful and kind. He makes the stay. Great to watch turtles from wall at end of garden overlooking beach. Breakfast good. Open to non guests which is annoying, as few sunbeds and people walk of the beach and use the sunbeds having had a meal. Understand it's a business but not good for guests. Restaurant Italian so didn't choose to eat there unless needed a change to remind of home. We were promised a particular room and didn't get it.

We did this trip in two parts, the first week we packed in: Trips all organised by Vihan at WB.. Whale watching, Rain Forest, River cruise were we fed the wild monkeys, Cookery Class, Turtle Hatchery, visit to Galle and Safari, we had the car for the week and a driver and each experience with its own guide, except the whale watching which was on a very good boat. Could not have been better organised. I would recommend each and every one of these trips. Second week at WB was relaxing, everything from the rooms, the food which is excellent and the beautiful lagoon which has the glorious warm water and a resident turtle which we saw on a daily basis and on occasion more than one, as you can imagine swimming in this was bliss and went towards making it a memorable week. The thing that makes the WB however is the staff, they go above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble a huge shout out to Sampath and the team who seem to be everywhere and do everything whilst always being available to do what is needed if you need them. Vihan who manages them is always around and checks on each and every guest to make sure they are happy which I guarantee you they are. All in all a lovely holiday and if I can get back I will, this is a lovely find and definitely one for your bucket list.

My family and I stayed for 3 days at this beautiful villa. This place was by far the most interesting place I have ever come across in the South of Sri Lanka. WB villas is situated near rock pools and a reef with crystal clear and calm waters, providing an amazing location for snorkeling and relaxing in the water. We had a room on the ground floor with a garden view, and it was extremely comfortable, with more than enough space for the 3 of us. The Italian restaurant towards the front of the villa was also divine, presenting a wide range of various Italian foods, as well as the option of a Sri Lankan or Western breakfast. The quality and taste of the food served in the restaurant was amazing, made with homegrown materials grown in their very own herb garden. The service was also impeccable. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, including the manager, who also went out of his way and drove us to the town to buy snorkeling goggles. Overall, we all had an incredible experience in WB Villa, and were all blown away by the atmosphere, service and quality of food. We loved being surrounded by nature and were all felt that it was a true gem situated in an ideal location.

We booked economy room,but it has window only to the parking place.therefor we were not happy at arrival,but as they were not fully booked for our dates manager immediately offered upgrade to a room with garden view even giving discount. we accepted that.Garden is beautiful,staff is very very kind and helpful,breakfast was intercontinental and great,they run also a small mainly italien restaurant with 4tables.Galle is 10minutes by scooter,turtle beach 5minutes,but we could swim with turtles even in the ocean at WB Villa,which has direct gate to the ocean front.Amazing place with great staff.Thanks for the unforgettable days to : Vihan Sampath Chandana Amith Kalum Nushan

My wife and I stayed here recently and having traveled a good deal, I can say that this place was the nicest surprise gem we have ever come across. This holiday started as a bid at a charity auction after admittedly a few drinks that I won, so we were a little apprehensive about what to expect when we got to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is now one of our favourite places that we will definitely re visit, but this is about WB Villas. WB Villas is a beautiful place run by wonderful people, from the moment we were picked up at the airport to the fair well on departure we were treated impeccably with a care and respect that is very rare to find. The Sri Lankan people are the nicest, polite, warm people we have ever come across and Vihan and his team at WB Villas are no exception. Nothing is to much trouble, their sole aim is to make sure you have the best experience possible. As there are only 4 rooms anyway, a personal experience is guaranteed, a lot of the time we had the place to ourselves. Even when we were the only guests there, the staff were always on hand to assist in any way even to the point that one evening after an excursion, Vihan called us on our way back to check if we were ok and had had dinner. Even though we said we could make other arrangements on the way back, he insisted on keeping the kitchen open for us and treated us to a lovely late dinner upon our return. A big thank you to Kasun our driver who was so helpful getting us where we wanted to go and informative about his lovely country, again nothing was to much trouble. The entire place is kept very clean at all times and the rooms are superb. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced for the quality. The food is fresh, Vihan and the head chef Chandana source fresh produce regularly and with the help of the kitchen assistants Kalum and Amith, they provide a top class meal every time with Nushan always on hand to serve and keep the drinks topped up. A special mention to Sampath the assistant manager who greeted us at the airport and looked after our every need during our stay, we always said that his warm greeting and smile every morning was a lovely way to start our day. Thank you all so much for making our holiday so special, the special last night dinner I asked you to arrange as a surprise for my wife with our own tailor made menu was something we will never forget. I can highly recommend WB Villas as a great place to stay with more importantly some exceptional people to make anyone’s stay a lifelong treasured memory. We hope to see you all again next year. They downloaded my reservation that I had for months and was put into a smaller room for the same price. I wouldn’t go back to this place. I booked months ago and then they ruin my trip with this. They tried to say that the downgrade was the same room even though it was half the size. Bad business

An amazing place to stay. Villas are wonderful, clean, great decor and the larger penthouse is spacious with a great view of the beautiful garden. Has access to the beach to a beautiful swimming lagoon and you can then lounge around on beds and chairs taking in the view. Vihan and the team do a great job making everything feel comfortable and the Italian food is a must. Highly recommend it.

We were very lucky to be able to spend eight weeks here at the wonderful WB Villa. It is truly fantastic. Hiran, the manager and staff of five go above and beyond to help your stay be the best it can. Nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in the separate bungalow which is delightful. The whole property is beautifully decorated and maintained to a high degree with a fantastic, well kept garden. WB is directly on the beach with wonderful views of the Thalpe pools which provide amazing snorkelling and safe swimming. Added bonus of turtle watching from the comfort of your sun lounger. The breakfasts are so good with a large fresh fruit platter, choice of eggs and freshly ground coffee. We were very sad to leave and would highly recommend anyone to stay here. You will not be disappointed. It's a gem. A place away from the crowds to relax with the option to go into nearby Unawatuna or Galle nearby. There is also an authentic Italian restaurant on site which serves home made delicious Italian food. Thank you to Hiran, Sampath, Chandana, Janith, Kelum and Amith for making our stay so very special. Come to WB and fall in love with it as we did.

We had the fist floor luxury suite which is way better than advertised. A real wow factor when you arrive. The hotel grounds are beautiful and there is a lovely sitting/sunbathing area just separated from the beach by a low wall making the area nice and private. Easy access onto the beach down a few steps. The beach is small but safe and there is an area very close by which is great for swimming (in the lovely warm and clean sea). We preferred this to busy beaches where activities are provided. A really lovely setting. The staff were very nice and attentive. We had an evening meal on one night of our stay which was very good although the price was close to what we would pay at home (but not quite as good). It was lovely to sit in the restaurant next to the sea so it did feel special and we expect this would be hard to find elsewhere in the area. Check in was made very easy and contactless but the only place on our 2 week tour where were not offered a free welcome drink. This hotel was our second most expensive on our tour and the only reason we could not give this 5 stars was that you felt that they wanted make more money on add ons. We had a second coffee at breakfast which they advised would be extra. We settled our bill the evening before our early departure. The next morning as we were rushing to leave they advised that the morning extra coffees were missed off our bill so we had to go back in to pay a further £5.00. They were good enough to do an early morning take out breakfast for us but were 15 minutes late with it. That’s why it was annoying when we had to go back and pay for the coffee. We don’t blame the staff for this as the manager was not there so they maybe did not have the authority to change this. Don’t let this put you off staying here as it is a special place with excellent staff and we would stay again. The new owner seems really nice and will hopefully take on board this feedback.
