It’s a nice and very clean inn. The room was small, but very well matching my needs. I got extra guidance to restaurants and breweries, which I enjoyed as well. The location is quite central to get out for temples or sightseeing in general. Thanks a lot for hosting me and for your support

Staying at Wakabaya Guesthouse was amazing! The place was very clean and very nicely set up. The owner and the family were all kind and welcoming. The guest house is similar to a hostel with tatami rooms, futons and a shared kitchen area. The host Takeshi is genial and urbane, speaks excellent English and has a host of ideas for activities. We enjoyed a little boat trip to the nearby islands of Megijima & Ogijima, as well as a visit to the interesting castle near the ferry port.

Guesthouse Wakabaya is a lovely, cozy place in the Japanese style and very clean. It offers everything one could possibly need (toiletries, tea and coffee for refreshment). It's conveniently located just a 5 minutes walk from the tram. The host is very friendly and helpful with finding local places to eat. He has a lot of information and maps available. He also responded promptly to our emails. We had lovely time and would stay there again.

We had a wonderful time at Wakabaya! Takeshi is an expert guide on all things Shikoku and was able to help us plan our days. He has excellent taste in food and drink too, so we never went without a recommendation. Our rooms were tidy and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely go ahead and BOOK this gem in Takamatsu as it’s an enormous blessing to find!! Minutes on foot from a train station (Hanazono, which accepts SuiCA FYI) and many great eats, and not only is the WakabaYa website (read it!!) an excellent resource for the different things to do/eat in Takamatsu/Shikoku, but as an extremely experienced traveller the proprietor of WakabaYa, Takeshi-san, has designed the perfect guest house. The house is perfectly clean, the rooms are sunny and delightful, the futons extremely comfortable, the kitchen well-furnished and the washing machine a life saver (and there are clotheslines in the room themselves), and any concerns you may have about a shared bathroom (I know I did due to bad memories from university) should immediately be banished - Takeshi-san offers a free flow of freshly-laundered towels and takes great care that the shower, baths and toilets were pristine (and as a guest I made sure to leave everything in the same way). And a final shout out to Takeshi-san and his beautiful family, who was always ready on hand to respond to any worries, queries and questions I may have. I can happily say that I had a wonderful healing time in Takeshi-san’s lovely guest house and I’m already planning when to return to my new home in Takamatsu :) 若葉屋はすごく綺麗だし、オーナーさんもすごく親切な人だし、いろいろお世話になりました。若葉屋の部屋は明るくて、布団もシャワーも清潔でした。ホームページもわかりやすい。朝に*かけご飯を作るのために、オーナーさんから、オーナーの親戚の稲田に育てたお米も買えて、美味しすぎてたまらなかった。すっかりした七泊を過ごしました。ありがとうございます！

Perfect stay for my journey around Shikoku! The host and his family's hospitality were wonderful in sharing tea and recommendations for meals (was led to the best udon of my life) and my travels. I was very pleased with this clean, comfortable lodging. Thank you!

The owner (Takeshi) and his family are amazing people and really made me feel welcome. He goes out of his way to make himself available if you ever need any help, or if you just want to talk. My room was nice and comfortable. The guesthouse is in a convenient location with easy access to transit.
