The best attribute of this hotel is the staff, all of whom were so friendly and very helpful.
The decor is very unique. The theme throughout is trees, perhaps in a rain forest setting, as it has a very dim, subdued amount of light with a lot of black walls in the lobby and public areas. Some would like that, others would not. I prefer a lot of windows and a bright, cheery atmosphere.
The design of the room had the windows just above the toilet and bathtub. I found myself keeping the blinds closed most of the time for privacy. I’ve never seen a room with the windows only in the bathroom area. The furniture in the rooms and throughout the hotel was of tree trunks and woodsy decor; interesting but not very comfortable or functional.
The breakfast buffet was not up to the standard to which I am accustomed in 4 and 5 Star hotels in Asia. While it appears there is a wide selection, and several stations, I found my plate to be empty, and kept returning to my table with little bits of food. No pastry selection at all, just store-bought bread. Fruit selection was limited and not fresh, and not appealing visually.
The hotel was very clean, and the staff very attentive. I just think in trying to be unique, they’re missing the basics of a 4 to 5 star hotel; great atmosphere and great food. I think a review of the entire theme should take place, because it could be a much greater hotel with great staff already in place.
