Piermont Retreat

This has to be one of the most beautiful places I have every stayed: awesome. We had an old-style cottage looking out over the sea, where I could happily have lived for longer! Gorgeous rooms and just enough facilities to cater for yourself from great local produce (including a hotel larder). Breakfast items provided would just about see you across two mornings. It's a real privilege to stay here and enjoy the facilities, including walking on the private beach with no one else for miles. The welcome - after a stressful drive! - was exceptional. The Homestead restaurant is equally brilliant where G and P (and team) ensured that we had two fantastic evenings of food and wine. They were effortlessly hospitable and made each evening a joy. Congrats to the chef(s) for two wonderful meals. Book for dinner as Swansea options are limited.

We stayed in a one bedroom beachfront cottage - perfect for two and with amazing views. Good supply of provisions for our first breakfast and you can get really good expresso coffee at reception from 8-30 am on! Very relaxing and quiet - couple of kms to Swansea and about 55 minutes to Freycinet. Lots of vineyards on the way to Freycinet. We would not hesitate to go back.

The important thing to know about Piermont is that it is NOT a resort. It is in a beautiful location about a two-hour drive from Hobart. We stayed in a suite that was serene, designed with neutral, natural furnishings. There is no air conditioning, so the room heated up during the day (in summer). There is a pool, but scarcely any lounge chairs and no umbrellas. The beach is accessible, and quite secluded. Great hikes are nearby in Freycinet National Park, about a 45 minute drive from the Retreat. We had lunch in the restaurant. The menu is not extensive and portions were small. On the whole, I would recommend Piermont for a quiet 2-3 day getaway during the warm weather months.

I reviewed the restaurant where we had lunch. Unfortunately Tripadvisor wont let me review the dinner. The Dinner is a set price 3 course menu for $115. Total rip off. While the food was well presented and edible, $115!!!??? No thanks. The best was the Tiramisu desert. And the waitress fro Canada was great!!!!!

Great location with nicely appointed room. Unfortunately the service we received throughout was quite disappointing and certainly below expectations for a premium priced property. Missed common courtesy. Genuine requests like the core component of the breakfast provided was missing. When we enquired if this was simply an oversight, it was just dismissed as bad luck. Reception hours are limited which we can cope with but when we left messages out of hours to the contact provided we had to chase due to no response. We stayed two nights and couldn't dine at the restaurant either night, once due to closure on a public holiday and the other evening because the small restaurant was fully booked. Clearly our mistake in not pre booking but be warned, pre book. Also be warned they are unable to tell you what is on the set menu till the chef arrives at 5pm on the day. Management did eventually offer with resistance to squeeze us in to dine late to pacify us but it was too late for us so we had a nice dinner in town instead. Management also tried to address our concerns late into our stay but unfortunately our expectation for a premium experience for a special occasion had already been let down and soured by poor service throughout our stay. I understand the staff member particularly unhelpful has since left the property's employment.

Had a blast at Piermont Retreat with my friends. The place impressed us from the start, especially with the option to have breakfast at the restaurant, featuring local delights. The rooms were clean, well-equipped, and a gorgeous design. The stunning views right from our window were my favourite. The beaches around were absolutely beautiful, offering us endless moments of relaxation. We treated our stay like a retreat, a luxurious treat where every moment was meant for unwinding. Dining at the Piermont restaurant was a highlight, fantastic food. The staff were all about making our stay perfect, always friendly and on point.

Beautiful accomodation, they have thought of everything to make it special and relaxing. The staff were very helpful and definitely recommend having lunch and dinner at Piermont. We would definitely recommend to friends, centrally located to Swansea

Our second visit to Piermont. What an incredible experience. We have travelled extensively and found Piermont to be an absolute highlight. The setting is exquisite, with unmatched views. Our accommodation was beautiful, gorgeous beds and really well equipped. You can feel the care in every detail. The Homestead Restaurant is the cherry on top, an absolute treat. The staff are amazing and met our every need. An absolute treat, we’ll be back.

Piermont is Tasmania’s East Coast Oasis! This is my first Trip Advisor review. I want to acknowledge how special this place is and how it made us feel. We visited last year and we are already planning our return this year with family from NSW. There’s a sense of English seaside with high end finishes in most of the builds, and customer service that goes above and beyond. Honestly, it’s some of the best customer service I’ve received in a long time. During a camping trip last week I convinced some of the other mothers to pop into Piermont for a coffee. The staff welcomed us delightfully, and they quickly fell in love with Piermont just as I did. At the end of our camping trip one of the mothers booked her family of four in for a two nights. This is a place I’m proud to recommend to others.
