Mihrako Hotel & Spa

This pleasant hotel is in the heart of Sulaymaniyah, not far from the main souk/market but also on a busy road with lots of available food stalls, restaurants, hotels and liquor stores. I spent New Year's Eve here, and it was perfect (if you want to be in the heart of all the activity). The rooms were comfortable with power and hot water consistent and reliable, and a very nice buffet breakfast spread suitable for Western tastes (since it had pizza, eggs, and a lot of other options!). The service was good too, I had sent out laundry in the morning and got it back nicely packaged and for a cheap price by the afternoon. There is a small spa pool/health club complex attached to the hotel and it provides a nice place to take a dip (although the water is warm, and usually overrun with old men doing breastroke-which makes it difficult to do laps or anything serious in terms of a workout!).
