Mysterious Burglary Experienced at this Hotel
I have stayed at this hotel between Oct.27 to Nov.02 2024. On Nov.01 morning I found my money stolen in my room and reported my loss to the manager, and the half day was spent at the police station filing a record.
While awaiting the police investigating I would like to seek opinions from the hotel management since except I contacted the manager and attendant nobody further asked me a word about my experience of burglary until I checked out on Nov.02. Here are the mysterious points awaiting Mr.Holms studing:
1. The thief should know well about my level 1 and know my room 106 is occupied, since during my stay I have never met any guest in the corridor each time when I entered or came out my room. There are very few guests staying at this hotel recently.
2. The thief should be aware of my absence time. I was absent from my room between appr.4PM to appr.7PM Oct.31. Prior to leaving the lobby I deposited one pack of watermelon at the reception frontdesk telling the boy attendant I will go out. I hid my bag at the top of wardrob and did not touch it at night when back.
3. The thief should have a key either copied or original from the hotel. There is no physical damage to the lock after burglary happened, and I physcially locked the door each night before sleeping. Whenever I went out of my room even for retrieving water at level 2 I locked my room.
4. The thief should master the hidden knowhow to open room 106 correctly. The door is unopenable if via key only, unless the guest pulls the door by one hand and turns the key by another hand simultanously.
5. The thief did not take away my Iphone nor laptop at the desk, and he was so kind in leaving me around USD170 in around 20 notes of three currencies. He took away around USD500 + MYR200+VND1.5 millions. I duly conclude the reason why he left many but small notes in my bag aims not to alert me identiying his theft before I leave Kuala Lumpur.
6.. I asked the hotel no room service required, so since I checked in room 106 no room service was done at my request. CCTV camera is fixed in front of ground entrance and level 1 entrance as well.
I am curious why this thief behaved rarely not taking away all money and not interested in laptop? I attach pictures of CCTV cameras and money reserved for me by this noble thief. Also I hope my above observations will help the hotel managment make improvements to protect their guests from being stolen in the room, apart from putting one notice Guest self taking care of his property and any loss in the room is beyond hotel commitment.
