Chegámos Como viajante cansado, cheio de chuva, e entregamos-nos para o cuidado de nossos hospedeiros, que nos fizeram sentir especial e valorizado. Nossa espaçosa e elegante sala, cheia de fogos de artifício e banho para dois, sentiu-nos um tratamento bem merecido e um profundo restauro, trazendo-nos um senso de calma imediato após alguns dias de viagem. Mesmo o alimento era incrível. O menu à la carte celebra a produção local de alimento para o mar e de almofada para placa, preparado com cuidado e flair.Recomendo a torre de alimento para o mar quente/frio. Incluído no preço, é um pequeno-almoço continental escrupuloso acompanhado por um excelente café da barrista, o que é um começo perfeito para o dia.Toda a experiência é um amável lembrança de levar o tempo para respirar e viver no momento. "We stayed for two nights in Unit 2 which was adequate for our needs. The room was clean with basic furnishings though the bed was the hardest we slept on whilst in Tasmania. This is a great location, easily walkable to the Gordon River cruise check-in. We did find the numerous passive-aggressive notes regarding recycling and cleaning quite humerous and probably not necessary."

"First and foremost, if you want an absolutely stunning view with your Strahan accommodation and the privacy of a self-contained ‘house’ environment, rather than a stock-standard hotel, choose to stay in one of the two Wheelhouse Apartments. We could only manage one night there as they were booked up for the other nights we were in Strahan (hence we DID have a sad stock-standard hotel room for the other two nights!) but really it is a place you probably want to spend at least a few nights, say a day or two when you might be planning ‘down days’ or rest days in your Tasmanian holiday, and when you are not racing off to Strahan’s various attractions. [That said, if you are going ‘into town’ it is an easy 10-odd minute walk.] This accommodation would be best enjoyed when you have adequate time just to sit and stare at the amazing view! We normally comment that it is annoying when so-called luxury self-contained accommodation does not have a dishwasher, but I must say that with such a view, you probably do want to stand there washing the dishes and just staring out the kitchen window! The location and the architecture ensure the view is always flooding into the house – even when you are lying on the bed. Note, however, there are no curtains upstairs so you will be woken early to ‘enjoy’ the view whether you want that or not!!! Shutters could be neatly added without ruining the aesthetic surely?? But the downside is the very evident wear and tear. Of course scratches do not detract from the functionality of a place, but almost EVERY surface is scratched or worn in some way and it really shows the age…walls, floorboards, cupboard doors…everything is quite well worn. If you had to go through the same regime as when hiring a car, checking for marks etc, you would spend hours recording all the flaws before you moved in! So it does need some TLC but the 4/5 rating very much reflects the absolutely beautiful setting and view and the fact that we would be fine about staying there again if the need arose."
