Newby Bridge Hotel

The hotel was amazing. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and really fast service. The bar was well stocked with plenty to choose from. My room was immaculate fresh and clean. Great location if your needed a base to start exploring the lake District.

So from the outside the building looks run down, we arrived early and spoke to a helpful lady on reception, we stayed and had a light lunch which was really good. When we checked in later we were disappointed to find our superior room was not that at all. Our lake view was just about visible. The room was dark and in need of an update. The toilet had continuous water running, the extractor fan was extremely loud, the sealant around the bath had black mould patches and also around the sink plug hole. The heated towel rail needed a clean. Every part of the room floor squeaked, as did the four poster bed every time I turned over. The wardrobe door didn’t open but did on its own 10 minutes later! The bar staff were lovely and helpful and the food was pretty good for an evening meal. On checkout, I told the receptionist about the door but it was dismissed as a faulty towers wardrobe, she also said we needed to pay for drinks from the bar which we’d not done as we’d paid for our drinks each time we ordered…I’m surprised you don’t have to show your room key every time you want to add something to the room bill, I’m not entirely sure she believed us when we said they weren’t ours. Unfortunately we didn’t feel the price warranted what we got.

What a beautiful place to stay and we traveled with our doggy who was made to feel as welcome as us, the mangers especially Sylvia were exceptional, very professional supportive & kind they all went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The pub area is immaculate & plenty of space between tables , the waiting / bar staff were friendly & WOW the food is superb we ate here for 5 nights and it was just exceptional. The Room was large with access to the garden , comfortable beds , the cleaning staff kept the room lovely & clean , swimming pool beautiful gardens. Good sized car park surrounding areas beautiful with easy access to Windermere & surrounding places of interest. We were so very impressed we have booked a return stay for longer , honestly the management team & all the staff are simply the best we have met. Don’t hesitate to book.

We spent one night here,and we are really pleased with everything. We will recommend to our friends and family. The food, accommodation and all the facilities are perfect. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating. They are playing with the children and make them to feel welcome.

The staff were soo lovely, the breakfast and dinner options impeccable. It was my first time at the Lakes and it was a solo birthday trip and the staff did a pack of chocolates for me as well. The woodland cabins with the hot tub was the best experience ever out of them all.

Great hotel,lovely setting, gardens and views. Rooms clean and beds comfy! The staff are extremely accommodating went above and beyond for us as we celebrated my mams birthday, especially Keely the manager and Alex on reception. Food was delicious to and the added bonus of the hottub, pool area offers a great space to relax. We are already booked in for our next visit! We are returning guests abd visit often, definitely worth a visit!

Perfect one night stay at the Hotel at the end of October. Staff were wonderfully accommodating to our needs (a foot injury and a 3 year old!) resulting in a fabulous upgrade to one of their pods with a jacuzzi. It's our second stay at the hotel and it's a perfect location at a reasonable price for visiting Cumbria Zoo, Ulverston, the Transport Museum and the main reason for our trip - the Steam Railway and Boat trip to Bowness. Breakfast is awesome and as we were staying on their 'Kids Stay free' £100 a night deals we couldn't have asked for more. We will be back!

Although not the most attractive building from the outside, Newby Bridge is a lovely place to stay. We last visited 10 years ago and were hoping it hadn't lost it's charm. The restaurant and bar eating areas are pleasant places to enjoy the really good food on offer and the bar is old-fashioned and very welcoming. We stayed for 3 nights and with a young puppy and kids it was easier to eat in the hotel each night - the food was excellent and very good gluten-free options. The room was basic but clean and comfortable and well big enough for our family of 4 and boisterous puppy! The pool area is a good addition and lovely to sit in the hot tub after a day out walking. The whole team at the hotel are excellent and give the impression that they genuinely care that their guests enjoy themselves. We would certainly recommend this hotel to couples or families and will definitely visit again.

A short mini break at this hotel was just what we needed. From start to finish the break was superb. Our room (4) was spotlessly clean. We also were pleased that the room was serviced every day which is some that is missing from most hotels nowadays.ALL the staff were friendly, polite and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them.. they even offered to carry our bags up to the room. 1st class service all round. On Thursday evening we had some friends who live in the area join us for an evening meal. They had not eaten at Newby bridge hotel before. But said they would definitely be back. The quality of the food and service were really impressive. Well done Newby Bridge for being a first class hotel. I would highly recommend.
