The Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but it’s also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted. The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes. We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a “honeymoon massage” at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyone’s taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along. There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and it’s always worth checking out the “fresh-from-the-grill” area to see what the day’s speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from what’s served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddies’ menus). The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but it’s good for the planet). Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.

I recently stayed in the Sunrise Alma Bay for 8 days and the hotel atmosphere was just great. The hotel staff were so helpful. My room cleaner Ibrahim was so accommodating, friendly and efficient...and an expert in towel art! Emad at the pool bar was so welcoming and the service was excellent. Hamdy and Mohammed in the towel station/by the beach were friendly faces every morning and so helpful. Anastasia in Guest Relations came around to our table every breakfast and was able to action any little requests we had. She was very impressive with her notebook and actioning things so quickly. And lastly, when I asked to extend my room for a few hours (and very reasonable additional cost) on my last day, the Hotel Manager arranged for me to be moved to a suite on the seafront and the concierge Mahmoud was so kind in helping with my luggage and room change. I have been visiting Egypt for 10 years now and this stay has been a highlight for me because of the helpfulness and friendliness of the hotel staff, the delicious food, the pool (one of the best I have seen), and the beach front with pier and lagoona just make it the perfect location. The added bonus is that it is only about 20 mins from Hurghada airport. I would recommend this hotel to families, couples, singles and will definitely be coming back again. Thank you. Ciara

✅Vim para Hurghada porque só Hurghada tem ônibus noturno para Alexandria, então eu apenas deitei primeiro~ 🌊Reservei um quarto standard com piscina. Fiquei preocupado que me dessem um quarto no primeiro andar com varanda e piscina. Não me senti muito reservado quando cheguei lá. Mas quando cheguei lá, descobri que os quartos no primeiro andar eram os mais populares. Não há elevador no hotel, mas você pode pedir ajuda à equipe com sua bagagem. Há 1 garrafa de Coca-Cola, 1 garrafa de Sprite e 2 garrafas de água de 1,5L no quarto. A decoração parece do século passado. A internet cobre o lobby e a piscina, mas é um pouco lenta no quarto. 👨👨👧👧Os hóspedes são basicamente todos avós e avôs estrangeiros que vivem aqui permanentemente. Rostos asiáticos são muito raros. Fomos sentar no snack-bar perto da piscina e recebemos a atenção de todos. A equipe estava muito entusiasmada e disse olá em chinês quando nos viu. Havia um tio na praia que tomou a iniciativa de conversar conosco. Ao meio-dia, comemos na piscina e tiramos fotos do frango assado. O chef de frango assado levantou os espetinhos de frango assado para eu tirar fotos~ 🎭Há apresentações no restaurante no andar de cima às 8:30 todas as noites e no teatro às 9:15. Na noite em que fiquei lá, houve um show de luzes e acrobacias realizadas por um irmão africano. No começo, pensei que o show de luzes era apenas uma apresentação à moda antiga com luzes e música, mas não esperava que o irmão fosse tão chique com as lâmpadas de luz e sombra. A performance acrobática do irmão africano também foi de altíssimo nível. Sua performance de torcer o pescoço e a cintura foi tão chocante que não consegui suportar assistir. 🐠Sou preguiçoso demais para nadar ou ir para o mar, então eu apenas ando pela praia. O Mar Vermelho é muito bonito, e você pode ver pequenos peixes a olho nu na praia. Era impossível deitar durante todo esse dia e noite. Quando você fizer o check-in, você receberá uma pulseira, que pode ser usada para refeições e bebidas gratuitas. Após o check-out, a pulseira não pode ser reciclada, mas pode ser usada. O pombo assado, o frango e o peixe no restaurante são todos deliciosos, e as tortas no snack-bar também não são ruins. Exclamamos que este hotel com três refeições incluídas por pouco mais de 300 yuans por pessoa era um ótimo negócio. 🎁Compras: Diagonalmente em frente ao resort fica o shopping Cleopatra com preços claramente marcados. O último andar com vista para o resort é surpreendente. Os preços não são os mais favoráveis, então você pode usá-los como referência. Um vestido longo de manga curta com padrões egípcios custa 240 angstroms, uma pintura de papiro impressa custa 41 angstroms e a essência custa 4-9 angstroms/g, começando em 50g. O frasco é feio, então você pode comprar um frasco pequeno de essência por 75 angstroms e levá-lo de volta para encher. Também há uma fileira de lojas de souvenirs por perto. Agora que penso nisso, eu poderia ter ficado surpreso se tivesse ido às compras com um preço de referência. De qualquer forma, essas lojas não têm muito movimento durante o dia. 🐟Coma e beba nas proximidadesAlmustafa Fish: Embora o resort ofereça refeições com tudo incluído, ainda quero experimentar o restaurante local. O Uber mostra 25 libras egípcias, e o motorista aumentará o preço para 50 libras egípcias.

Este foi o hotel mais satisfatório em que me hospedei no Egito, especialmente considerando a péssima experiência que tive em Luxor – foi como comparar o paraíso com o inferno! O hotel fica bem ao lado do Mar Vermelho, incrivelmente fotogênico e lindo; o Mar Vermelho está bem em frente à janela! Apesar de haver muitos avisos online, eu ainda estava bastante apreensivo antes do check-in. A comunicação com a recepção foi tranquila e clara. Eles até me disseram para almoçar primeiro e voltar mais tarde para pegar meu cartão de refeições, o que foi fantástico! As instalações do hotel são um pouco antigas, mas têm um toque exótico! O hotel é enorme e cada canto é fotogênico! Embora a maioria dos hóspedes fosse de idosos brancos, todos foram muito educados, e o restaurante era tranquilo, relaxante e elegante. Já me imagino ficando aqui por um longo período depois da aposentadoria! O restaurante à beira-mar é lindo, com gaivotas e corvos pedindo comida por perto, mas ainda assim respeitando os limites. O quarto inclui três refeições por dia, chá da tarde, café, etc. O sabor era mediano, mas a quantidade de pratos era farta! Os maiores problemas foram o Wi-Fi ruim e a roupa de cama. Não entendo por que não atualizam a roupa de cama; é melhor trazer a sua própria se reservar aqui. No geral, gostei bastante. Tinha um bom custo-benefício e os táxis eram muito convenientes; os motoristas nunca me cobraram a mais. A loja de souvenirs à esquerda do portão principal, recomendada por muitos, tinha um funcionário muito simpático, mas os itens eram apenas razoáveis, nada de especial. Fica perto do cais e também perto do ponto de ônibus.

The restaurant is spacious with great indoor and outdoor seating, and the breakfast was decent. The beach is stunning—very quiet with crystal clear water—but be careful entering the sea as there are many rocks at the shoreline. However, there are several drawbacks: Service: The staff seems very inexperienced. We were charged to upgrade from a single to a double room even though the website listed them at the same price. At breakfast, we had to ask for coffee multiple times before it actually arrived. Facilities: Surprisingly, the main pool is not heated, and there is no elevator, which is worth noting if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. Location: You are quite isolated here. You definitely need a car or a shuttle to get anywhere. Overall, it’s a nice physical space, but the management needs to better train the staff to match the ”new” feel of the resort.

Harika Bir Konaklama – A Stay That Turned My Trip Around – Ein Aufenthalt, der meinen Urlaub gerettet hat I only stayed in Hurghada for two days, and unfortunately my first day didn’t go well because I had booked the wrong hotel. After leaving that place and arriving here, I instantly realized I had finally made the right choice. Even though I spent only two days at this resort, I left wishing I had booked a much longer stay. All the staff members were genuinely kind and attentive. The food selection was extensive with plenty of delicious options. The beachfront, the swimming pool, and the overall resort atmosphere were wonderful. After my check-out, my flight wasn’t until midnight, yet the hotel kindly allowed me to continue using the resort facilities— and even encouraged me to enjoy the dinner buffet. This thoughtful gesture truly made a difference. During my trip across Egypt, I stayed at 4–5 different hotels, and this one was by far the best. Another big advantage was that the staff could speak both German and English, which made things so much easier. I’d like to give special thanks to receptionist Mina Khalil, who was extremely helpful and kind throughout my stay. There’s only one thing I believe could be improved: Even though it’s 2025, the in-room internet was available only for an extra fee. At a hotel of this quality, fast and complimentary internet in the rooms should definitely be standard. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would absolutely choose this hotel again.

Perfect resort for a holiday with friendly staffs and beautiful beach. Also good for snorkeling. Just a few steps away from the beach you could find corals and fishes.

Tudo o que foi dito sobre a localização e a proximidade com as comodidades públicas é verdade. É o melhor compromisso que você pode encontrar em Hurghada. A Marina fica a poucos passos da praia, dentro do hotel. Todas as atividades aquáticas e esportivas ao ar livre podem ser reservadas diretamente de lá. É realmente tudo incluído e você provavelmente se cansaria de comer e beber. Os quartos estão cansados e gritando por socorro. Os móveis são fracos e velhos, assim como os eletrônicos. O dispenser de sabonete do nosso banheiro vazava por toda parte, havia formigas por todo o banheiro e formigas no quarto. Quase não há internet disponível. Absolutamente nenhuma no quarto, então a propaganda é uma grande mentira. Os quartos precisam de reforma. No geral, você se informa melhor agora antes de reservar. Ainda assim, recomendo muito este lugar.

Lovely hotel ,3 pools …pool with slides, Kids pool and then another family area with pool. We had to move rooms as we had no hot water … but they moved us no problem. The outside areas are lovely … bars around the pools … the only suggestion would be to have nibbles and also ice has to be available … the beach bar no ice at all again this is a no brainer. The food needs overhauling by a chef … hot food generally not hot enough. No chips for kids .. no burgers … the menu needs changing and the cooks need training from a chef The quality of the food needs a lot of improvement… many guests not happy one said it was a culinary catastrophe, a lot started eating out. When you get there you are given a coloured wrist band and the staff will see you are a new arrival. I saw new arrival guests get approached by on site staff selling , massages,nail and beauty makeovers,trips,and ice creams … as many as 5 approaches in 10 minutes. In 5* hotels these people are at stations around the hotel and when guests are ready they go to these stations .. they don’t get hounded …the massage guy approached me 3-4 times a day. Some of the trips need vetting The service was ok and all the staff was friendly … the animation team need new outfits .. I couldn’t really see what they did to be fair .. no games to get people involved. Overall it was a nice stay .. but there is a lot to work on .. I hope they will see this honest review and make changes … it could be a 4-5* but it will only be a 3* if they don’t make changes
