"The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and provided great service. The facilities were also in good condition, making the stay quite comfortable. The location, however, was a bit far from the city’s CBD area, but getting there was still easy thanks to the nearby tram access. Overall, a good stay with only the distance being a small downside. good view at night if you get a good room."

"Rydges is a great hotel and the location is perfect. This is my second time staying here. The first time, I booked a Deluxe King Corner Room with the church view, that room is absolutely gorgeous. This time we stayed in a Twin King Suite. The view isn’t as nice, but having the beds separated from the sitting area is perfect, especially for the kids bedtime.
A couple of downsides: the pool isn’t very kid-friendly if your children aren’t strong swimmers, or if you’re shorter and need to supervise them closely. The shallow end is still 1.2 metres deep. The couch in the room is also not very comfortable, honestly, the floor felt like a better option. We also had trouble getting through to reception from the room phone. We tried calling four times with no answer and ended up walking down, which was fine, but a bit inconvenient. Room service picked up quickly though, so I’m not sure if there’s an issue with their reception line.
Overall, still a lovely stay, just a few things to be aware of."

"A lovely boutique hotel in a great location. Our room was large, spacious, and beautifully styled with modern décor. We especially appreciated the kitchenette (including a dishwasher) and the two balconies, which made the stay feel even more comfortable and airy.
In terms of cleanliness, I’d rate it around 4/5. While the room was generally clean, some items are starting to look dated — for example, rust on the stainless steel racks. There were also a few maintenance issues, such as a fridge that wasn’t working properly and a chunk of plaster missing from one corner. With a bit of TLC and some updates, this hotel could easily move from good to fantastic.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated.
The location is excellent 10-15mins to the centre — trams are just a 2-minute walk away, and there’s a supermarket directly opposite the tram stop where you can also purchase a Myki travel card, making it very convenient to get around.
Overall, a spacious and comfortable stay in a well-connected area, with just a few areas that could use some attention."

"Right in CBD. Not far from city circle tram, that means can ride free everyday within CBD. Breakfast was nice, sufficient choices. Twin shared room was spacious.
I used the pool and jacuzzi every night before bed!
Hotel offers 10dollars credit if not requiring room makeup service. I spent my 29dollars credit on a fish and chip in room dinner.
Hotel has a little arcade. I spend quite a bit of time there. Fun!"

"The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The facilities, especially the pool and restaurant, were excellent. Location was convenient, close to shops and attractions. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it."

"I booked this hotel for a business trip by chance, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The location is perfect – quiet yet central, making it easy to meet clients while still being away from the hustle and bustle. The room facilities are new and complete, with a smart toilet, high-speed WiFi, and an HD TV, catering to both work and relaxation. The staff were incredibly attentive; they proactively helped me with my luggage and even upgraded my room for free. The freshly ground coffee and handmade pastries at breakfast were absolutely divine, starting my day off with energy. They even gave me a complimentary gift when I checked out, which really made a lasting impression! UUsuário convidadoThis is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

UUsuário convidadoThe location is perfect. Lots of eateries and shops around. Great view. Room was clean and staff were amazing. Two of the window latches and the ice cube tray were broken. Otherwise it was great.
By the way, I am still waiting for the pre-authorised deposit back. Read some reviews that can be difficult or take long to get that back, hopefully it will not be this case as I really wanna book this hotel again.

GGuest UserI had a great stay at this Holiday Express! It's right in the heart of Melbourne, super close to the train station, and within walking distance to all the major attractions. That really made our day. There's a fantastic selection of food nearby, the service was excellent, and the hotel facilities were top-notch.

UUsuário convidadoWonderful hotel! Upon check in, Mark at the reception immediately remembered where we came from and also that we have done online check in and thanked us for doing so. We feel respected and welcomed. He also provided suggestions to us on places to see, which were great suggestions. The service of the hotel, especially Mark was marvelous!
The room is spacious with nice shower. Water pressure could be better. Bed was very comfortable that I wish to take it come with me. Sound proof not at issue. Everything is just perfect! Of course, the location is also a plus with just a few minutes walk from the tram station and 10-15 mins walk to CBD.

The one bedroom apartment was huge. Plenty of room with an equally huge balcony.
The place was clean, apart from one of the towels that had some type of hard black stain that stick do towels to it’s self. Not ideal, but this would be an issue with the laundry company that Quest use.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend.

UUsuário anônimoThe hotel is v new, just opened recently so the facilities are kinda cool. It’s like half hostel half hotel vibe where there is a common space, gym and kitchen at level 1. The gym is super cool, should check out if you have time, there is small tvs in front which could display exercise guiding video.
The kitchen sometimes can get dirty especially the sink there, it might clock and has fly. You generally fill up water at the sink there so you might mind and gets quite disgusted.
There is no slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, coffee, tea and water provided in the room. Without slippers, it can be quite cold stepping into the bathroom. The room is quite dark, there isn’t a bulb at the top of the room so it’s designed such that you just get back to hotel and have sleep. You also can’t get light near the end of the room.
The staffs said they will do housekeeping for every 4 days so let’s say you stay up for 3 days, no one will come and clean up the room for you. Good and bad.
The hotel wifi sometimes will lost connection, maybe there is too many people using, I’m not sure but it’s quite annoying.
The shower holder is too tall, definitely higher than 2m, not user-friendly.
The location is v accessible, there is a tram station called queen Victoria market nearby and it’s within free tram zone. There is a 7 11 at the end of the street, convenient to grab something fast. If you like Asian food especially Chinese/ Malaysian, there is quite a lot of options you can choose from

TTina FeThe hotel carpet smells, the building is old and needs a total replacement of carpet. When we entered our room. It smells like bleach everywhere. We have to open the window to make it go away. The room is decent size and the toilet and bath are separated where there are no hand basin to use after using the toilet if someone is using the shower or bath tub. The view from our balcony is magnificent, the Melbourne tall buildings skyline. I also love the location because it is near public transport, free tram and shops, even universities. The kitchen are complete with cooking utensils and pans. They got free coffee, tea and milk. The toiletries were given 1 set of tiny bottles but we are 4 people booked in.

BBec143I’ve stayed at numerous at the Punt Hill apartments over the past decade, though it had been a while since I last stayed in one.
Our one bedroom apartment was spacious, however the hotel is quite run down now.
Walls in the bathroom weren’t very clean, neither were mugs and cutlery (I always make a habit of cleaning things before I use them!).
I ended up staying mostly in the hotel as I was sick with the flu so I noticed the wifi was very glitchy and intermittent too so it made streaming shows quite difficult to watch that I ended up just using my phone.
The beds were comfortable though!
The location is actually fantastic too, right in the heart of China town and easily walkable to places.
