If we disregard some ”minor issues,” the hotel is generally not bad: 1. During my two-day stay, there were three power outages. The first was just as I was about to take a shower (I'm so glad I hadn't started showering yet). The second was after a brief power outage. The third was the most frustrating. After a long day of hiking, I returned to my room exhausted to find it completely dark, with no switches or air conditioning working… It took a long time for a staff member to see me and turn the power back on… Apparently, they deliberately cut off my room's power. How ”environmentally conscious” they are! 2. This is a family-run guesthouse, so I wasn't expecting a hotel-style welcome. However, their service attitude still made me feel uncomfortable… From check-in to check-out, even when they asked for a positive review, everyone had a cold face towards me, making me constantly wonder if I owed them money or if I was just too ugly… Perhaps it was a culture shock? But of all the countries I've visited, only the staff here are so ”solemn and dignified”... Very well... If this is how you treat your guests... I will never laugh again in Uzbekistan... It makes me look like a clown... 3. Terrible service. There was never anyone at the front desk, especially when the power went out in my room and I needed help... During my two-night stay, no one cleaned the room. Now for the pros: 1. The room was clean, bright, and spacious, spotless. 2. The breakfast was very good, plentiful, and nutritionally balanced. Furthermore: Only the bottled water in the room was free on the first night of your stay; they didn't replenish it during your stay. A bottle of water in the refrigerator next to the front desk cost 5000 soms.

Não era possível dormir Na manhã, por alguma razão todos estavam a abraçar as portas no chão, embora a porta fosse facilmente fechada. O gel de chuveiro, o champô e o sabão de mão - todos OS três meios eram iguais, não havia mais sedimentos no banheiro.

The hotel is tucked in a quiet alley, around 15 mins walk to Registan square. Lovely garden and decorations. Staff are very friendly and helpful, always greet the guests. Breakfast was excellent, with hot dishes like blini pancakes or eggs or sausages, some salad, tea and coffee. Room is spacious and clean. I highlighted recommend.

Excellent hotel right next to Samarkand's train station. (A maximum 5-minute walk, which was super convenient for us.) The room was clean and had everything we needed: a kettle, fridge, mugs, tea, and coffee. The bathroom was stocked with soap, shampoo, gel, and toothbrushes. There’s an outdoor pool with sun loungers, and the grounds are well-maintained (clean, mowed lawn, planted flowers). However, the pool water is very cold! Breakfasts were tasty; although a bit repetitive, you could easily mix and match different options. I was especially delighted by the local strawberries and the coffee from the machine at breakfast. 🥰 There's a beautiful restaurant on the top floor, but be aware that on weekends, there's loud music from evening until 11 PM. After 11 PM, it gets noticeably quieter and doesn't disturb sleep.

For me, Hotel Al-Bukhory was a absolute highlight of my trip to Samarkand. First of all, the room was extremely spacious with no sense of confinement, and the in-room amenities were very new and clean. The hotel's location is within walking distance of major attractions like Registan Square, with convenience stores and supermarkets nearby. The breakfast offered a rich variety of dishes. The overall design of the hotel is also very comfortable, featuring a courtyard-style layout which is quite convenient for smokers, and a great spot to relax on the courtyard sofa with a cup of tea after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly, warm, and hospitable. Without exaggeration, this is the first time I have encountered such wonderful staff across all the hotels I've stayed at in so many countries, to the point of being quite touching. In the evenings, I often drank tea and chatted with the staff, learning about the locals' way of life, which added so much excitement to my trip. I strongly, strongly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Samarkand!

I stayed here alone as a female traveler. Being on the first floor made it easy to go in and out. The room had an electric kettle and a hairdryer, but no toothbrush or tissues. Body wash and shampoo were provided, but the scent was quite strong, so if you're sensitive to smells, you might want to bring your own. The shower was a fixed type, which was a bit disappointing. There was a partition between the shower and the toilet, so the toilet stayed dry. There was a refrigerator, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on, so I couldn't use it. Overall, though, it's a clean and good hotel. During my stay, I didn't encounter any staff who spoke Japanese, which was a shame. By the way, there's another hotel with a very similar name. When I took a Yandex from the airport, I was initially dropped off at the wrong hotel with a similar name. Luckily, there was another Japanese person there, and we managed to get to the correct hotel together via Yandex. So, everyone, please be careful!

I didn't take pic of the room as it is basic but spacious enough. The hotel is strategically located in between various sightseeing sites. For travellers who opt for tram and bus, you choose the right location because opposite the hotel just accross the road, there is a tramvay stop and bus stop. Tramvay goes to and for the main train station if you are departing for Tashkent or Bukhara. While bus goes around the city. Take bus 22 to go around the city area such as Registan centre. Take bus 31 to and for airport. Really convenient, affordable, and I highly recommend it.
