St. Ives Holiday Village

Have to say we have stayed with John fowler twice in Cornwall and was very disappointed the first one we had to leave the property for a day as it had to fumigated as we woke up with bugs all over the kitchen side! However we decided to give st Ives a try as we have always Loved Cornwall! Well never ever will we be booking any of their sites! We booked a family Swiss Cottage, when we walked in it stunk of wet dog to the point we had to open all the windows and doors, the beds were all unmade as though the guests had slept in them and not been changed! Then we went up to the kitchen and the floor was so sticky our feet stuck to it like you would on a nightclub floor! I don’t even get me started on the bathrooms 🫣 We went and complained and to be fare they did give us another cottage, however was still dirty but not as bad as the first one so I just went to the little shop to get cleaning fluids and cleaned it my self! The balcony to the cottage was very unsteady and wobbled when walking on it and felt very u safe so we kept the double doors closed the whole stay so the kids didn’t jump up and down on it and go through it! There was also a problem with the tv and channels which we had two apparent engineers (personal think they were just normal staff) have a look at it and the second one said it was a problem with the tv which was down to the owners and not the park! We wasn’t offered another tv so had no tv for the whole stay which was great with 3 young boys! The swimming pool was poor, the entertainment was yawn boring so didn’t even bother going for the rest of the stay. Staff where polite it’s just a shame the hygiene and entertainment let it all down! When I made a complaint to John fowler I got a 5% discount of my next booking lmao

We’re just finishing our long weekend here, this is the third year we’ve been and although we’ve always had a lovely stay it was even better this year! The staff couldn’t do any more they’re all so lovely and friendly, we want to give a special mention to Gill at the pool who was a star and so kind to our two children. It really made our stay even more special! Also the children’s entertainment has really improved, we came all 3 nights and our 3 year old has had an amazing time with the entertainers, also the character breakfast was a lovely touch. Already looking forward to next year

We love this place. We have been coming here over 20 years and hope to come for many more years......... Great for family's or just couples...... We have stayed in the diamond lodge this year and, wow! I wish i could live here......Would definitely recommend!!

We have been coming here for over 20 years with a young family. Now, just as a couple, but grown-up up children are now coming with their partners. We love it. The staff are friendly. Management is always on hand to help and advise with accommodation. We have seen a difference in the last few years on how it's run and the changes. Which are for the better.Absolutely fab place. Definitely recommend.

5th time here went 20th may till 27th absolutely love this place staff can't do enough and my accommodation is always the best ...can't fault this gorgeous site .. I have already booked to return again for next may love spending my birthday here 🤗

Had a great stay bar staff was great shout out to Elliot toby and sally they really worked hard and made our amazing caravan was clean staff was amazing and help me out so much with getting into the caravan without the key as my mom wasn’t with us x

The manager of St ives is absolutely fantastic she helps you out mirs then she should she is beautiful inside and out and out family has become friends with all johm fowler holidays I would highly recommend this for anyone thinking of starting to follow john fowler just like my family did you want me disappointed and the manger will go out of her way to help in any way she can

We cannot complement the experience we had with the St Ives team enough! We did have a number of issues which occurred at the beginning of our stay however these were quickly rectified by the manager. Based on the scale of the compensation we received it’s not even worth mentioning all the details of the minor inconveniences we had as the resolutions meant our holiday wasn’t “ruined” and we weren’t stressing about the issues. As a family, we completely understand and appreciate miscommunications happen and sometimes things can be delayed. We went to the reception desk to request the minor issues to be rectified. The manager Christina not only rectified them promptly she offered mind blowing compensation which exceeded our expectations and we were blown away by how helpful she was. Dog friendly - The dog friendly rooms we had were fantastic, we did have to lift the pup into the apartment as he only has little legs and the steps were quite large but that wasn’t an issue. The club house and restaurant had dog friendly areas sectioned out, a luxury we hadn’t been able to experience at Trelawne mannor. It was great to experience all the onsite facilities with the dog as a family all together. Usually we wouldn’t spend much time in the onsite pub as it would mean a member of the family is left behind with the dog which isn’t fair as they’re missing out. So it was really lovely that this has been opened up here and we could spend time all together. I really hope this change is kept and continues as dogs are a member of the family Staff - There’s not enough words to express just how fantastic the staff were! Especially thanks, as mentioned, to Christina for being an absolute superstar. The bar staff were excellent in remembering our previous orders, if it weren’t for the fact we kept changing drinks I’m sure all the drinks would have been poured as we’d got to the bar haha! The gentleman in the shop honored a wrongly displayed price and demonstrated fantastic customer service. Although we had little interaction, the stripey team seemed really pleasant and greeted everyone with a smile. The onsite maintenance team were efficient and polite, with particular note to the hot tub maintenance gentleman who we saw most. So many people go into the effective running of the site and yes we had some mishaps along the way but we cannot fault how greatly they were resolved and the mannerisms of the staff - they weren’t stressed or rude about having to fix things they got the job done pleasantly. Propertie(s) - Our first property, a gold 3 bedroom apartment building, was lovely in itself! It was a nice size and would have been comfortable enough in itself for the week. The couple of nights we spent there were absolutely fine, aside the minor inconveniences we had at the start, this would have been a perfectly great holiday. When we were upgraded as compensation for the few issues we had, we were put in a 2 bed platinum hot tub lodge which we were all in

Having done a few Sun holidays, I can honestly say that this is the nicest site we have been to, mainly because of the people that work here. After a long journey with a small baby I really appreciated the smiley faces and warm nature of Shirley and Dan at arrivals. It was check in day for lots of people but they weren't flustered and took the time to have a chat about where people were travelling from and what their journey had been like. They also interacted with my baby which made her smile after our lengthy drive. Just a little detail that really helped us settle in. It was at arrivals that we also met the lovely manager Christine. She was on hand to help her team and had a chat with us and other families that were arriving. Throughout our stay we saw Christine on multiple occasions. That lady must put some serious work hours in and you can tell because she was doing various tasks around the site to make it look beautiful. The flower borders are one special touch that we noticed. I never expected to describe a caravan park as beautiful but it really was. Christine remembered us from check in and had a chat to us about how we were getting on. You can tell that the staff at this site have a genuine interest in their guests holiday and making sure that it is just right. One example being that we hadn't brought a travel cot but one was arranged straight away and it was delivered to our accommodation. I like to visit different places but this site is one that I will definitely return too. It is surrounded by beautiful woodland and has a really peaceful and relaxed feeling.
