Cobblers Cove

We stayed at Cobblers Cove in October, with our three children (aged 21, 18 and 14) and had the most magical week. The staff were attentive and charming, nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were stunning, spacious and beautifully decorated. Having a separate sitting room and bar area was perfect and our two interconnecting rooms faced onto the tranquil garden. We swam in the turquoise sea, a turtle bobbing up to join us one day, and it was a memorable and very enjoyable week. We ate often in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious with a very varied menu. The cocktails at the pink marble bar were a lovely way to start the evenings. We highly recommend Cobblers Cove for an incredible holiday, with or without the children. A gem of a hotel with an elegant and relaxed atmosphere.

We recently stayed at Cobbler’s Cove and are returning visitors to the island. Manager Joanna greeted us on arrival and we were offered cold towels and a lovely rum punch, which was lovely. The suites are generously large, well equipped and well proportioned. The entire place was meticulously clean and tidy, and it was evident that all staff take a lot of pride in the hotel and gardens also. After booking we were a little concerned over some poor reviews for such a premium hotel, but happy to report that there was no need to worry. The laid back relaxed vibe was exactly what we’d hoped for, food and service was excellent, except there were some ‘hiccups’ at breakfast over service, which were quickly resolved and we laughed off being on holiday and Bajan time anyway. There were some particularly helpful staff worth noting, some were great fun to be around too. Special thanks to Gregory, AJ, Pearson, Virgil, Rawle & Ricky. Swimming pool was nice but a little small, but to be honest we spent most days swimming / snorkelling in the sea, including swimming with the local turtles 🐢 neat the breakwater just off the beach. Complimentary afternoon tea was also very popular in the pavilion. Also complimentary was 30mins speedboat ride daily, which needs to be booked in advance and we used to also access other local beaches for a change. Some guests do seem to reserve sunbeds with towels fairly early mornings, but that said, this was not regularly abused and we always found a sunbed with ease when we wanted to The gardens are beautiful and well tended, You also have a wide array of wildlife in these gardens, from hummingbirds, land crabs, mongoose and a troup of green monkeys. Cocktails were really lovely (and also potent, so be warned, particularly the notorious “cobblers cooler”, with added giggles included. The location is absolutely stunning and fabulous, and only a short walk into Speightstown along the beach. We absolutely loved our stay which thoroughly recharged our batteries. A nice touch was the mosquito repellent and plug-in device for mosquitoes in the rooms, but the time of year we went these were not really any issue. The hotel is an absolute gem and a credit to the efforts of Joanna and her whole team.

We have visited Cobblers Cove before, but only for lunch, so this was our first time staying there and we couldn’t have been more delighted. Our flight was very delayed, so it was almost midnight when we arrived, but the staff waited up for us with a warm welcome and a thoughtful platter of food for us and our grown up kids. Throughout our week’s stay the staff were exemplary - always polite, efficient and friendly. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, and ours which was called ‘Mile and a Quarter’ had recently been re-decorated with exquisite fabrics by Sam de Teran. The pool is relatively small, but given the sea is only 10 feet away, it’s all you need. The food was excellent with a varied menu. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and hope to get back there again soon!

What a wonderful hotel. Right on the beach, beautiful building, great food and excellent staff. We had a wonderful stay of 6 days. Also highly recommend Renaldo the tennis coach! Cannot fault anything and will definitely be back next year!

This was not for me. I arrived, and as my room was not ready, went to have lunch- server asked if I wanted blackened or broiled lobster in my salad, I asked for broiled, it arrived blackened, and salad overwhelmed with too much dressing. Getting up, I asked another sever what the thing that looked like a little ice cream cart was, and she shrugged and said “I don’t know.” New staff? The fans in the dining area weren’t on, told they were broken. I asked the bartender where the Spa was and he told me to go ask reception- finally, another bartender told me it was just to the left. A male server, when I asked how to add a tip, told me: “We prefer cash.” Wow. Had a great, complimentary boat ride, and the small swimming pool was warm which was great (Barbados pools are all chilly, except for Sandy Lane). I had requested a room on the top floor, months ago- I was taken to a room on the ground floor. They did call and say they found a vacancy on the top floor, but I was shocked my request had been ignored. And this meant time wasted, going to wrong room, feeling let down, stressed, then moving to another room… Understand that all requests cannot always be fulfilled, but just email and say “We can’t accommodate you, do you still want to keep your reservation?” Then we can go somewhere else. Room was very clean, pretty, quite sparse- no TV, no toilet paper holder, which was weird. Linens etc/ first rate. There is a 20.00 dollar (US or BBD?) charge for room service- that’s a lot, considering the rooms are expensive and the food, as well. No water provided in the rooms. WiFi good. No beach, just rocks, but I think you can access beaches with a bit of walking? Nice boutique, Spa not open. Very pretty public areas, but pool, dining area seemed crowded, very small. Dinner, too dark to see, but ordered Beef Teriyaki, which was served rare- better to ask what temperature guests prefer. At breakfast, they were out of orange juice, English muffins… I felt very sorry for the Hostess/Manager- it felt very chaotic. I did not feel warm or welcome here, it was a bit mad. A sort of circus feel, esspecially with all the pink and white stripes decor. Just not my cup of tea.

Small suites with air-conditioned bedrooms. Beautiful tropical gardens with copious loungers, restaurant, and swimming pool adjacent to the beach. Small reefs full of life are accessible for snorkeling directly from the hotel. Kayaks are available from the hotel
